Chilwell

I thought that myself.

Considering a popular opinion is that he will take Fuch's position in the next year or two it's strange he didn't play yesterday considering how highly rated he supposed to be and with Fuchs having a long season and the Euros coming up. Possibly it's because Ranieri knows he won't be here long so pointless helping his development? I think he probably would have played if he had committed to the club but I may be well off the mark.

I was thinking he would get some time yesterday but maybe CR wanted to not lose at Chelsea. I'd rather Grey get the game time and have the solid defence behind than both and Chilwell leaving gaps and getting destroyed by Willian/Hazard. It would have been a baptism of fire for Chilwell and could've brought him down a peg or two at where he is in his career.

I don't think he would start in any premier league team apart from maybe lower end teams and they will more than likely be shipping goals every game and the young inexperienced players are the first to be changed. Making comments like up and downs on social media makes him look ungrateful and if it's work related the he needs to not air his complaints publicly or learn to be humble very quickly.

If he wants to go he can go, just because he's from the youth team doesn't mean we can ignore an attitude.

To say this season was one of "ups and downs" is incredible, Fuchs is the best I've seen at LB and he has a few good years left in him yet, if Chilwell can't learn from him and wait for his chance then so be it.

Couldn't agree more. For one who's done so little he's already attracted more comment than he's ever earned. I really do wish him the best - as I wish for any of our Academy graduates but if he or his advisers would rather he were somewhere else, there's no point in his being here.

Yeah he needs to pipe down a bit. No way he's getting in front of Fuchs again next year and if he can't do that I doubt he'll be able to break into the first teams of many in the top half.

Thought he looked a bit full of himself when he walked on stage at the party last night. He has a swagger about him that suggests he thinks he's the dogs knackers and tbh, he's done **** all to earn that opinion of himself.

Another young lad who's going to get ahead of himself and potentially crash and burn - he can do that somewhere else imo.

Laters m8.

Really would like to keep Chilwell, if only to show these bigger, less successful clubs that they can't poach from us anymore.

We'll probably be playing at least 10 more games next season. I'd imagine we could give him 15 appearances. Is that not enough for a player at his stage of development? He also seems to get along well with Grey, being the under-21 teammates they are. And even though 8m is nothin to sniff at, it's also not a great risk for us to keep hold of him and see how he develops. 8m. Championies. We can afford that risk. Fair do's, if he wants to go then he can fuch off.

To be fair Ndwuku, Choudhury, Chilwell and Muskwe have a fair bit of potential from what I have seen and heard, it all depends on their attitude,Choudhury seems to have worked on his hence he has been involved in the U21 squad again.

After hearing a lot of negative things though about the youth setup though it doesn't surprise me anymore that we bring very few youth players through (See the last few pages of the John Rudkin thread)

Not surprised, most youth team players these days seem more interested in posting pictures on Instagram and gathering Twitter followers than developing football skills.

The reason why most of them end up chugging around League 2 by the time they they are 25 and fitting carpets by 40.

I met his Dad once and he's an absolute bellend.

I cant remember who it was but someone on here mentioned ages ago that his dad was slagging off Leicester and the team at a BBQ. Wouldn't be surprised if he has told Chilwell that winning the prem isn't good enough.

That was me. Couple of years ago now.

I wonder if his Dad is the same guy that once tried to convince me that Tony Spearing was the best full back in the country. He wasn't trolling me either.

A lot of of huge assumptions being made here about his character. What will be will be, let's not call him Billy big bollocks before we know anything concrete.
