The Reds are trying to replace Alberto Moreno and boss Jurgen Klopp believes he has beaten Arsenal to the teenager PLUS: Kop confident on German keeper

Jurgen Klopp will start rebuilding his Liverpool squad by signing Leicester’s teenage left-back Ben Chilwell.

The 18-year-old has turned down a new £18,000-a-week deal offered by the title-winning Foxes, with Klopp's Reds and Arsenal hot on his heels.

The German believes he has won the race as the Anfield giants look to find a long-term successor for Alberto Moreno, who had a nightmare in the Europa League final loss to Sevilla on Wednesday.

Liverpool are likely to have to pay around £3m for Chilwell, who has played for England at Under-18, U19, U20 and U21 levels and is frustrated at a lack of opportinty at Leicester

Don't see why not. Left-back's a major weakness there. Games all but guaranteed I'd imagine. It just makes sense (with add ons) if there's no obvious first team vacancy here.

It's his agent doing his job... Remember when Liam Moore was rated as a hot prospect and "Arsenal wanted him", puts a few thousand extra on the contract.

Unless it came from the agent how would they know what was turned down contract wise? He's either angling for extra cash, or attempting to drum up business with potential buying clubs.

Either way, he won't leave on the cheap and we'll have a large sell on percentage in any deal.

If he's not wanting to stay, let him rot in the stiffs or get rid. We've got the cash to not even have to worry about it.

Treat it like it was your job, if a place has better prospects and a better wage, you'd make the move. He has his own personal aspirations he wants to fulfill, can't blame him.
