Why are the asking for more now, or am I off the mark with a release clause? He had a release clause, but we let it expire. So now they appear to be holding out for more money.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 let's just get Wilfried Bony in . got to be cheaper than this guy .

Surely if theres a release clause in his contract there's a release clause? If it expired, not that I understand how it can expire, you just bid again at the same price and activate said release clause again. I guess theres different small print/technicalities/terms but I don't really understand that one.

john ridley Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Sporting's match on BT Sport at 6 o'clock so may hear about something then hopefully .

I'd imagine it's a simple clause, such as any bids above €30m euros made in the first year of the contract must be accepted. Once the year is over, the clause expires.

I believe vardys was active until 'may 31, hence arsenals bid being made that day.

Imagine if Vardy was open all year round and on Wednesday Arsenal make their first bid, Leicester are forced to accept and Vardy is an Arsenal player a few hours later and we have no replacement.

tsintskaro Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 This guy is leaving after todays game against porto its obvious, even official twitter wrote something like farewell letter and they already got 2 new strikers so he is leaving WBA or leicester thats the question,i am sure he is going to leicester that algerian journalist who is friend with Slimani and Mahrez is enough for me West brom is getting Chadli from Spurs
Tielemans63 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I get the impression he really wants to come to Leicester, his agent wants him to go to Leicester but the WBA interest is a useful tool. West Brom are desperate to sign him, Sporting would rather he went to WBA, we aren't as desperate to get him as West Brom and we think he's £10 million overpriced. I reckon he'll end up at WBA and IMHO the powers that be are right not to pay £35 million + for a guy worth probably about half that. Also from what (little) I know about him it sounds like he'd be a bit of a Plan B option for us whereas he'd fit directly into West Brom's style of play. Watch him join us for £40 million now I've said that
Riot Van Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Sky Sports are about as reliable as IndyKaila nowadays

SheppyFox Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 SSN saying £34m, that is too much even for a transfer whore like me!
MikeyT Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 SSN: LEICESTER IN SLIMANI TALKS Leicester are in advanced negotiations with Sporting Lisbon over a possible club-record transfer of striker Islam Slimani, according toSky sources. Slimani, who scored 27 times last season, is due to feature for Sporting against Porto later today even though we understand the player is keen to move to the Premier League champions. At this moment, Leicester and Sporting are some distance apart in terms of transfer fee - Sporting are demanding a payment of around £34m, but this is more than Leicester are willing to pay. West Bromwich Albion are monitoring the situation, and may yet put forward their own bid.
