SheppyFox Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Kapustka is secretly training to be the new mascot Drinkwater was fantastic.
Chester Dontlie Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 I'm not worried about Drinky, he's a machine, he could donate one of his lungs and still do the job on Saturday

Foxxed Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Shinji got on the scoresheet, some practice for those not in the first team, now fewer games going forwards, and we still have the FA, CL and PL games which will be more than enough. And our B team equalled the billions Chelsea have until we were down to 10. I'm going back to getting excited about Slim and the gradual improvements in Amartey's game.

Larry_LCFC Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Couldn't give two shits about the league cup. Absolute micky mouse competition. We are in the Champions league fgs. The manner in which we lost though is what's annoying. Some suicidal defending again. Back to business on Saturday with our first team and this will be a distant nightmare.
tsintskaro Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Yes,Shinji scored twice but he lacks skills there were moments when one good pass could create a good chance, but Shinji struggled I dont see him in starting XI,Slimani is much better option
Spicer Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 I knew we were screwed when King missed an open goal from a meter out.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Ahh well, at least I've got chicken nuggets to eat now anyway.
daddylonglegs Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 We were a bit crap. Never mind. Costa changed the game - a brilliant striker. what I want to talk about tho is Schlupp. It was hilarious watching him play when he was a youngster. Didn't really look like he knew what he was doing, but was nice to see someone from the academy getting a chance . Even last year, it was brilliant watching him knowing that a man of such little footballing know how was going to win a premier league title. tonight however he sunk to a new low. His lack of footballing ability/knowledge, to my mind hasn't genuinely cost us a game before but tonight it did. Whether it was air shotting that ball in the lead up to their goal or dummying a goal scoring opportunity 7 yards from goal, he's slowly showing that he is an athlete and not a footballer
Callabinho Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 A few things to note. Morgan really struggles without Huth by his side. Frustrating to see us throw away a 2-0 lead so easily and the jury is currently out at sea RE Musa, haven't seen any evidence to justify his price tag as of yet. All in all held out own against Chelsea until Wasly has silly time......however this cup is a waste of time and those competing in Europe should be allowed to drop out.

Still, it was our reserves against a pretty much full strength Chelsea side and it showed. We've got some good players on the fringes, but some just aren't good enough to compete with the likes of Chelsea. No shame in that, we're still developing as a club. Not sure why it took Ranieri so long to change things though, we had problems from an early stage. Over 90 minutes our reserve team drew with virtually a full strength Chelsea side hardly a disater

That is the problem though people have too much affinity with players like king and wasyl that are far from players that will keep you challenging for Europe
Dan Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Wasilewski is an absolute clown and that's unfortunately two big black marks against his name in about five games he's played. He's actually a half decent defender but he just ruins everything. It was funny when he was getting away with it but it was always going to catch up with him at some point. He doesn't get sent off tonight and we're in with a very realistic chance of winning it. If it's not enough changing most of the team against someone like Chelsea, then going down to ten men really did finish it. Only one winner from there. It was a strange game because whilst we didn't play particularly badly for a lot of it, I'm struggling to single out too many who actually played that well. Suppose Morgan, Simpson and Drinkwater all looked pretty good and Okazaki can't be knocked too much when he's got you two goals. Thought Schlupp looked all over the place, Chilwell was OK in patches but struggled (although someone's made a good point that he hasn't had it easy in terms of who's around him), Wasilewski was actually OK until that moment of madness, Gray was OK, King was a passenger. Ahmed Musa hasn't convinced me yet. I think there's a good player in there and he's worth persisting with as he shows glimpses of quality, but he does need to toughen up a bit. He's far too easy to brush off the ball. I'm sure we'll work on it. All in all it was frustrating. To lead 2-0 and lose isn't good enough under any circumstance.
foxinsox Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 We should not disrespect the cup that is in 2nd and 3rd place in our trophy cabinet. It is not a tin pot cup. This was Schlupps first game this season, so not surprised that he is not match fit. Chilwell too, and Wasyl. Was stood in well at the end of last season for Huth. He is a class act, albeit an occasionally rather physical one. Chelsea are a good side, very likely to be top 6. It would have been nice to have a better draw. I hope that we see Kaputska soon. Maybe 2nd half for DD on Saturday.

It's true to say that Schlupp is better when he isn't given time to think. But to say he's not a footballer when he's actually a premier league winner is disrespectful. He's far better than you make out.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 I blame the defending for the goal before half time if anything. Going into the second half 2-0, looking comfortable we probably would have won the match.
jmono84 Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Things I learned form the back up players - big wes can't keep up now, he made Diego Costa look like messi - chilwell ain't ready yet, he struggled against a decent experienced forward in Moses tho - Drinkwater was quality again, shows how far off King is in terms of quality and endeavour - gray looked bright but very frustrating, can understand why he hasn't broken through yet - schlupp was very poor but looked quick as usual, it was his first game so I'll forgive him, I wanna see him with a bit more quality - Okazaki and musa were a menace first half, second half they were non existent, even thought oka scored two I don't think his entire performance gets him a first team start very disappointed after looking in control and comfortable, very embarrassing how we got smashed like that... Onto the next game, I'm sure CR learned a lot as well
tyfox Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Chilwell got made to look silly today and wasyl was stupid. Schlupp looked clueless and musa and King looked bang average. Drinky Simpson zieler and Morgan were fine but I do wonder how they will fair come the weekend with fatigue. Onwards and upwards it was just one of them nights
stevelcfc Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 Returned home angry from a game for the first time in a long time tonight. (West Ham last season I just didn't have a clue what emotion I was feeling). Schlupp was abysmal by even his level which is usually pretty shocking at the best of times. Shouldn't have played Drinky for the entire match regardless of what the situation was. Biggest annoyance's of the night for me was all the Chelsea supporting day trippers around me and in fact the crowd in general which was shite, as for the embarrassing applause that Hazard got... Above that though, the two highest ranking mentions have to go to 1) The **** next to me who I can only think has the largest testicles in the land, nobody needs to sit with their legs that far apart and with their elbows out for 90 mins, nor do you need to get your phone out your pocket every 5 seconds to take another video, just watch the game. I'm just very grateful you ****ed off after 90 so I could finally sit in my seat rather than on the edge of it. 2) The colossal **** who drives a white Ford Fiesta who attempted to run me down near the fruit market on the common. You were only a few cm away from hitting me so thanks for that. Comment of the night goes to the clueless **** behind me. "Do Leicester even play in the same league as us?"
