It's been a disaster of a night for us. Go 2-0 up and we're all set but we can't hold on for one minute of added time and then they come out and score another. Wasyl sent off on 90 minutes and they win the game as fast as you can say "well at least we could get a goal on the counter with Vardy."

Just to summarise: happy feeling in the camp has gone, our player of the season so far is knackered, manager had a absolute 'mare and we are £12 million out of pocket because we didn't sell Schlupp.

Apart from that?

Why are the players laughing & joking at full time with Kante?!!

We've just let in four goals at home & it hurts!!!!!!!

Shinji seems to be the only one that cares.

Very poor after being two goals up...

Musa & Morgan at fault for 1st.

Wasa is a liability.

:(((((((((

Schlupp, chilwell wasyl etc etc will have absolutely no right in asking ranieri about game time over the next few months!!! Schlupp and chilwell were verging on embarrassing! Moses will probably never have an easier night than he had tonight.... to think we could have got a combined 20m for the pairing the window just gone :schlupp:

I still don't understand why Amartey came on instead of Benny

To leave him on the bench as a statement to say your career here at LCFC is finished?

Not too bothered about going out. The result did make me more pissed off about our Summer, we look reallly bare in defence. Wasyl was a nightmare.

Zieler made some good saves and Okazaki was good though.

Think some people on here need to chill out a bit. First half we bossed the game and if  it wasn't for poor defending and Was getting sent off could have been different. Some very good performances from Gray, Chillwell and Shinji and people slating king I don't understand, he did a decent job tonight. Our squad depth is just fine and we will move on from tonight and have a good season. We can't keep saying our season is bad every time we lose a game! We destroyed Brugge and Burnley

Meh.. we've won it before, would only be a bigger hinderance to progress anyway, it would be used as reserve run out, with CL and league to think about. We've enough games in competitions that really matter. We are the champions, we will get out of the group stages of CL. FA cup who knows? It is one that's eluded us, maybe he'll take it more seriously.

Not so bothered about the result, everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the worst way possible. Every goal was conceded at the worst possible time in the worst way.

Didn't see anyone get injured? Would have been worse to get spanked 4-0 in 90 minutes we had the chances to win it. Morgan switching off for the corner and it all went tits up. Shit happens. We're out the league cup, better an extra 30 minutes strolling tonight than 2 or 3 more games. Worst case scenario would have been a battling all 120 minutes suffering an injury or 2 and actually winning the game.

Fabregas' early goals were probably the best thing that could happen we just went into relax mode after that. We won't be any more tired for Saturday.

Other positives, 2 goals for Shinji

120 minutes for Chilwell

120 minutes for Schlupp coming back to fitness

Game time for Musa and Gray who need it and showed glimpses of what they can do.

Seriously it was not worst case scenario, bad goals at bad times, it happens we move on.

Last season we lost to Hull and went on to win the Premier League. So I am still optimistic. But after excellent 45 minutes and 2 nil lead when we were comfortably the better side, that was highly disappointing by the end. Soft goals either side of the interval especially Luis's changed it. They had better bench. Was' red cost us in extra time but disappointing that Kapustka didn't get run out. Chilwell was stretched and Schlupp was poor and unfit seemingly. But there we go. Upwards and onwards. We will be better Saturday.

Not too fussed about being out of the cup but a disappointing way to lose after such a good start.

Was was just stupid to get that red, but i think we would have lost either way. Many of our second team players are good, but we dropped too many first team players today to be able to tactically stand up to them for the whole game.

In particular, playing chilwell with attacking wingers in front of him left him very exposed, and King is simply not a CDM.

Some weird subs but in the end the damage limitation tactics that Claudio played for the last 25 minutes of extra time did work to an extent.

Wasyls elbow in slow motion looks ridiculous. A blind hooded ref would have seen it from 50 metres. It was utterly pointless in that part of the pitch and to be honest was quite nasty.

That aside we were good for 44 mins and then pretty average after that.

Wouldn't it have been better for him to come on though and rest Amartey? lol

Few massive over reactions on here - admittedly schlupp was poor but King wasn't that bad.

First half really solid - second goal was just one of those that the team couldn't do much about.

We are light at CB and CM but it's not that bad. We've won the last two games 3 nil - should have beaten Arsenal and truthfully Hull. Liverpool game wasn't great but they are playing well.

Its early and tbh if we finish top 8 and get to at least the 2nd round of the CL - that's a good season.

Couldn't give a rats ass about the EFL cup. But Schlupp is an imposter. Never in a million years is he a professional footballer.

We played a bunch of players who haven't played together on the whole. We're beating a strong Chelsea side 2-0 for 45 mins. Then it went to pot.  What did we learn?

Gray isn't as good as he thinks he is, so button down and put in some graft in training. Too easy to out muscle and no end product.

Wasyl- age has caught up mate. We forgave him after the Arsenal game but they jogged past him at will with those long balls inside channels.

Chilwell- worst I've seen him play.  Could probably do with an upper championship loan in my view.

King, nice pass for Shinji but needs a strong team around him to shine.

Schlupp- what the heck was he on today. Played like the Schlupp of two or three seasons ago. I really thought he'd upped his game last year, but absolutely dire today.

Shinji..what a  man! Typical performance and we'll taken goals.

Mussa..needs to build some strength in the gym..flashes of potential but too lightweight..give him a season and we'll hopefully see him perform.

I thought Drink,  Simpson, Ron in goal and Shinji had decent games.

Let's not go over the top with the doom and gloom. At 4-2 I had to switch off as it looked like being a rugby score at that stage credit for blocking out a game we were never going to win after those two quick goals.

Onwards and upwards.

Will be motivated to give Manure a go on Saturday me thinks:)

We should look at the positives, we shouldn't need to replace many of the first 11 at one time, so some positives, I.e musa, Okazaki.

Its highlighted where we need to strengthen, full backs, midfield.

We didn't have the luxury of Chelsea standard of reserves, and made them bring on costa and hazard, which I'm sure they didn't want to.

Reserves had a good run out, the only negative, the regulars might have heavy legs Saturday

Still undefeated at home this year as it was 2-2 in normal time. This extra time is not applicable in my world lol

Well, goals change matches and just like we nicked one against Burnley just before the break on Saturday which changed the game, Chelseas goal before the break today was massive. If we had hung on we would have won IMO.

Looking at our players who came in, I was happy with Zieler, especially one wonder save but quite a few one on one saves were impressive as he cut down the angles. Maybe he could have been more dominant for there 4th when he flapped a bit but Id side on the opinion that he played too well to have conceded 4 goals. He didnt deserve that.. Chilwell proved what we already know, has some skills but has a lot to learn. I personally would want him to be loaned out to continue his learning curve and keep Shlupp as back up at left back as he needs games to learn the position. I cant hammer the kid but he at times looked all over the place and hardly timed a tackle or even tried to tackle. Waso, we love him for being mad but he is always a sending off waiting to happen. Before that he was all over the place anyway and really the organisation we get with Huth and Fuchs helping out is massive. We all know why we were linked to Keane! Kingy, does what he does in midfield but IMO cant play in a 4. Needs to play further forward in a 451 but in a 4 with two widish mids and him needing to do the all round job in a central position I think is too much for him. He hasnt the legs or pace for it. Oka did his thing and Im glad he scored a couple of goals. Musa again needs a run but at times showed some glimpses of what he can do playing further forward but he needs the quality from midfield.

All in all, im relatively happy they couldn't beat us 11 v 11 in 90 mins and they had a couple more regulars in today than us although in fairness it was really both our B teams with a few first teamers sprinkled in. The sending off spoilt it as it meant Gray had to come off who was starting to tear them a new one down the right and Mahrez then couldnt come on as we had used all three subs which was another big shame. The only negative I would take from the game was that we seem to have given up when the sending off happened but once again in fairness, its probably because of few of them who havent had much game time gave their all for 90 mins and were too buggered come extra time?!

Schlupp was absolutely horrendous and we had to have him on for 120 mins instead of Kaputska? Ranieri has made a couple of poor decisions so far this season, I hope they irk him and he strives to cut them out. Schlupp and Wasyl should never play for us again. They aren't needed.

As I'm not allowed to use the D word I will call them something else.

Wasyl is a clown

Schlupp is a clown

Okazaki is god

Better?

Wow! Some right drama queens on here. Last season we won games playing worse than that. In 90 mins we held them to 2-2. When Was went, our heart wasn't in it anymore. At the time I said we should score an own goal rather than play with 10 men for 30 mins for the least of our trophy goals (I'm not going to call it a "nothing trophy" and belittle our previous success in the tournament.)

I think it was more to do with his versatility, I guess CR thought if the game went to 3-2 down we could push him higher up the pitch but with 2 quick goals I think it just took the wind out of our sails so in the end became ineffective as we had no energy being 2 goals down.

Maybe if we was 2-1 Benny might of come on?

That was actually quite disrespectful. Because of the achievements last year it's difficult to criticise but that really was a let down.

We should have seen out the 1st half and things would have been different.  Musa could have just knocked it down the line instead of trying that stupid flick, led to them getting a corner and then the game changes.

Wasyl was naive to say the least.  His arms were flaying all night.  A centre back is an absolute must in January.

Chilwell, Schlupp and King were all really poor tonight for a variety of reasons.

For me the only good points were that Musa and Gray got some game time as they are the two that are probably closest to the first eleven.  Even saying that, they only really gave a couple of glimpses of what they could bring to the party.

After a good week last week, this was actually quite dreadful.

Back 4 very poor tonight. Without Huth we're not good. King...just shouldn't be played in a 2, but I think we all know that.
