Vardinio'sCat Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 Thought his passing was really good actually. Thing is, he never had pace anyway, so saying he is too slow is a bit beside the point, and 36 is not that old for a CB. The Arsenal game wasn't his only appearance last season, but no one mentions the other games, which he did well in. Still love him...

He made more forward and direct passes than King.. and thats saying something.Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Livid Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 I still think he can still do a job for us. Just not sure he's ever going to get through 90 minutes again.
FoxonMaui Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 Cannot believe people, i bet Was was gutted with the Costa challenge. Yes he made a mistake, and he made a mistake in the Arsenal game last season, but he also has filled in very well for us on many occasions. The guy has been a huge presence at the club in many ways and still is. Claudio has mentioned that he give his all, even in training when he knew he had no chance of playing last season. Players like that are hugely valuable. Was will redeem himself , I am sure of it.
Guest Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 Can't play football like that anymore, surprised more people are not getting sent off for that behaviour. Yes Costa is just as bad, but as many people have said, he lets the team down. Thats of course if the team didn't want to win... As we are gonna with the champions league.
filbertway Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 See if Anderlecht want him back in January and go out and sign a couple of quality young defenders (RB and CB). Will always be a bit of a cult hero at Leicester but it's time to accept we can and should be having better back up/competition for first team places if we want to try and cement ourselves as a top club. If we're happy to just mess around and hope the first XI remain injury free then we may as well get Tunchev and Barry Hayles back in.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 The guy is still at the club because hes a decent sort and provides a horrible bastard of a wall to play against whilst training. Worth his wage for that alone for that reason, using him in pointless/ low value cup games is a bonus. Did expose Wez some what though with no Huth

I cannot fault Wes Morgan for his heart, effort and specific, if limited, abilities but Huth is the senior partner in the central defence. His positional understanding, discipline and technique were significant factors which led to the title. If City want to retain their position in the top echelon then supplementing/reinforcing central defence with players of Huth's quality is essential, especially with N'Golo Kanté's exit. Huth is clever in the way he endeavours to disrupt and dispossess attackers - because he has the strength and skill to allow him to do just that. Wasilewski just isn't disciplined enough to operate at this level - just not subtle enough - and I suspect that's because the best attackers will unsettle him and draw him into rash fouls. He advertises his more violent and cavalier aspects where Huth is subtle and restrained. Shame he's relatively unsublte and undisciplined - because I like the big, bearded bugger. The best defenders, like the legendary Milanese back four (or the famous Arsenal back line), are a unit - emphasising the necessity of working together - self-discipline and awareness of where their co-defenders are, in an ever-varying environment, is as important as footballing skill and aggression. I think City hired Hernandez with a view to 'upgrading' the defence in that direction. Whether that turns out as intended we'll see but I'd opine that Claudio is aware that the Morgan/Huth combination, whilst being outstanding, will be subject to all the vicissitudes common at such an intense level of competition and needs bolstering with reliable back-ups. I Dont disagree, with this on the whole...In fact the points around Huth are my sentiments. I believe Huth has made just by his presence Morgan a better player. BY stating that neither of them were "Angels" themselves, also shown my opinion that they also on frequent occasions show lack of discipline and loose it....Both could of of lost us games, but that is part of football ,even WC CBs have their negative undisciplined moments. When we bought in Wasi, right upto last season he was our quickest defender, best distrubuter of the ball from defence, and had purpose when moving forward. One could see he had played at international level. More than anything he shown despite F. forum and outside reputation, a constant skill and discipline. Before Huth he was our best CB and it was Morgan who was having us show concern. IMO if Wasi , was 3-5 yrs younger he could possibly be our no1. But he aint..This last 10 months when getting game time, we have unfortunately seen, not that his genaral pace is down, rather his close area reaction and timing seem to have deserted him. Good top, even WC defenders Mancini, Adams, the whole of the German CBs in the last 25yrs, Italian defenders being more subtle, loved, used their own elbows and arms just as much. Red and yellow were also regular companions..All showing automatic red/ yellow credentials .Hence my previous former post. 1st Pearson now Ranieri saw the potential of the 3 well above avg, but not WC defenders, and they would/could give us, within themselves, a platform to improve and stable our defence, For then a foreseable future. Pearson because of his defensive knowledge, Ranieri wth his Italian ethos of defensive duties. Because they took on the foxes shirt and at various times gave us the individual and last 2 seasons unforgettable great moments.they are our very own I wouldnt want to of changed them for one minute... Sadly because of lack of game time, and yes age, unfortunately time has caught up with Marcin Wasilewski. That said he should be on the bench and for this season is a usefull slot in, If Claudio is not backing Benaloune. I dont believe my perspective is skewed, because like all fans we all have our slightly different takes on that perspective, while still agreeing on the fundamentals.
Ted Maul Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 I'm inclined to agree that it was potentially his last game for us. Not so much for the mistakes, just that he looks half a yard off the pace. I would want to keep him as a coach though. I feel as though he has done a huge amount for the atmosphere/mentality of the club behind the scenes- before he came in, we had a talented squad which was falling short due to inexperience. It's been predominantly good times ever since he came in, and that's not a total coincidence. There's a determination to succeed when the chips are down within the squad, and I reckon he has been a big contributor to that.

Actually it looks as if he tried to shove Costa by the shoulder but his forearm slips off Costa's arm and hits him on the side of the head. "Accidental ref, honest!". Was it a second yellow or a straight red?

Witch Posted 23 September 2016 Posted 23 September 2016 Marcin is not a player that would easily lost his control on the pitch. I firmly believe he did not intend to smash Costa's ugly mug. A fcukin accident and I am pretty sure he's now bashing himself against his head with a guilt feeling that he let the team and the fans down.
dylanlegend Posted 23 September 2016 Posted 23 September 2016 Of course it's not his last game for us, WTF is wrong with people? He's still our 3rd choice centre back in my eyes. Unsure about Hernandez yet (apart from his beast of a throw), I think he'd be better alongside Huth, who's more disciplined / stable than Morgan. Plus I reckon strikers would literally sh*t themselves if Huth / Wasyl were charging at them.

Morgan is fantastic and as a pair they're great however, if I could only have one it would be Morgan every time.
Great Boos Up Posted 23 September 2016 Posted 23 September 2016 Loved how Was ducked his head out of the way of that annoying ball thingy so could bitch slap Costa. My hero.
