tyfox Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 People saying we will win the cl, you must be joking we will get spanked against a decent side if we play like that
weller54 Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Is there such a thing as Redbullitis?.. And any cure?
Benjani Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Maybe vardy is sulking because he got a 4 year deal, and we later sign slimani on a 5 year deal.

I didn't think Armartey was atrocious, all considered. If he can get the confidence to play the game he did in Copenhagen, he'll be a world-beater. Strangely, he is more likely to build that confidence in our Champions League group than the Premier League.
HighPeakFox Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 In reference to the possibility that last season was a fluke....it kinda was. I just use the word freak. Everything pretty much clicked at the same time and I'm afraid that moment has now passed. A few of them probably need a week on a beach...
st albans fox Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 What did Amartey do wrong? 2 v 3 in the middle against a good footballing side was always a risk and so it proved. No decent possession to break with they dropped v deep and JV couldn't go on the shoulder as was too far from the midfield to the strikers Claudio HAS to realise that 4-4-2 against decent PL teams is not going to work. Whether at home or away. I hope the the return of mendy will bring a different way of playing but can't see it probably just means drinks gets a rest once NM has built up some match fitness
Merging Cultures Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 We don't lose and we didn't concede. Against Southampton. The season before last we'd have happily taken the point.Aside from Kante, I don't know how in earth we achieved what we did. It can't be down to one 5'6" bloke. We had opportunities, that last year we would have taken. This year, to do worse than last year and better than we did the year before, all we have to do is play like we did today. We will be mid table mediocrity, and to be honest that is about what should expect.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 solid point imo. They're a very good side. Performance is another matter mind you.

Tielemans63 Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Agree with others who have said that Vardy could do with being benched, just to put a bit of a rocket underneath his arse if nothing else. Massive fan of his but he just isn't at the races so far this season. In one sense, he's so vital to the way we play that doing such a thing would be a huge risk but on the other hand the system we were playing isn't working at all. Time to try something a bit less predictable. He isn't getting decent service to be fair but the Vardy of last season would create something out of nothing.
Benjani Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Why has vardy completely changed his game though? He's absolutely useless with the way he is playing at the moment. It isn't down to confidence, anyone with low confidence can still press and close down.

covefox Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Happy with a point vs a good team above us in the league. Shame no bite though
sl27 Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 happy 0-0 the wonderful DD game and Schmeichel today it played 4 striker of 0 goals
foxes_rule1978 Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Just now, Benjani said: Why has vardy completely changed his game though? He's absolutely useless with the way he is playing at the moment. Vardy and Mahrez our two most important players for creativity and goals haven't really been the same this season. Mahrez did show energy today but he is getting outnumbered all the time and unable to play. Vardy seems to not be running the ball down like we know he can, the two times he did we almost scored. One of the most frustrating things is the long ball deep in midfield that isn't on at all, and results in us giving the ball away all the time.
matty98 Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Seems like whenever we have a tall player upfront we resort to hoofing it
Merging Cultures Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 We were at home to a team that played and travelled back from Israel on Thursday. We had every advantage and yet we were lucky to get the draw. Israel isn't that far away. Especially if you travel first class. And they would have been training and reviewing tactics while away. It's laughable that this considered an issue.
WigstonWanderer Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Well, a points a point I suppose, but that was mostly painful to watch. Just have to get used to the fact that we are a different side this season.

Milo Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Wasn't as awful a game as people are saying, imo... Southampton had best chances but Charlies chip aside didn't really look too threatening. (but neither did we, to be fair). Draw fair result. Need a bit of energy and spark - Defence solid, Drinky was ok, Albrighton wasn't. Not sure what Vardy was there for - didn't really hassle and harass as in previous 2 years, and he's also not scoring...so if you take those two bits from his game he's a little redundant. Decent result without playing well.
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 I think we can dispense with Albrighton or Riyad now for a few games. Two wingers isn't working as they are offering limited if zero service. If they end up just defending then better to play a proper centre mid who can both win and retain the ball. I know it's a massive change, but how about 4,3,1,2 with Mahrez floating as the one and Mendy joining the two Danny's in the 3? We can then work the ball up the pitch rather than hoofing which teams have clearly worked out.
Matt Posted 2 October 2016 Posted 2 October 2016 Its a point, but that was poor, disgraceful. It looked exactly what it was, two teams who played midweek and couldn't be arsed today. I was bored for the most part. Also, and I'm not singling him out, a few need to look at themselves but I made a tongue in cheek comment about Vardy yesterday, but now I mean it, he needs get that £100k off his back and get that hunger back. Sort it it out City FFS!
