The more we move away from Pearson's way of doing things, the worse we get.
Renart Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Are you all serious? You were spoilt last season! The away games that we have lost are exactly the games we would expect to lose! Ok - so the manner of some of the defeats hasn't been great but if we go back two seasons then no one would have been surprised by a 3-0 away defeat at Stamford Bridge. We need to reset our expectations. If we are losing against teams around us then that is not good but losing away at the top six is not a disaster. Europe is going well - and hopefully that will continue. Mid-table finish and a run in Europe is a good season for this club. Then we can go back to the plan of a more gradual building program by building a more structured squad (with depth). We will always have last year but it was an anomaly - that doesn't mean we didn't deserve it - and we need to look for a more gradual development. Let us not let it count against us by imagining that we have some kind of automatic right to repeat it.
Filbert_Ross Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 **** me. This thread. Ill swerve this this part of Foxestalk for a few days. Some right joke replies.

Focussing on the Champions League as an objective is one thing, but putting all eggs in one basket is another considering the Premier League is the basis of our football season. Let's hope so because, if we get dicked on Tuesday night then the alarm bells might start ringing.
dylanlegend Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Ranieri notoriously has good starts followed by poor form. Last season we completely over-achieved but even the first season in the prem when we were bottom for ages we were playing better football than we are now

You're right, no matter what people on here say, Nigel Pearson ( and Steve Walsh's) contribution to our title win is hugely underestimated. I do have faith in Claudio though, he is a sensible bloke and just hope he'll figure out what we need to be effective again well before Christmas

It's so obvious even to a blind man. Yeah all those subs, getting the best out of Mahrez/Vardy, keeping belief and only losing 3 games all season. Total magic wasn't it? Ranieri just sat around and it magically happened.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 This man wouldn't have stood for getting beat by three in successive away games.

Webbo Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Can I just remind some of you all this was Chelsea away.World class players in every position. Last season has gone to some of your heads.
dylanlegend Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I think it's obvious that Ranieir is a short term manager I always worried about the long term plan after Pearson left, I'm really not sure what our 'long term' plan is. Our priority needs to be avoiding relegation
Fox 4 Life Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Now is when he needs to prove his pedigree and show that last year wasn't just riding the good form and setup he inherited. I still think he's why we won the league as tactically he is better than Pearson could ever be but he has looked lost this season.
LAprice_ Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I doubt the owners are bothered about today's loss. They've got bigger things to deal with at the moment, like the death of the King?

Kitchandro Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 No excuses for the performances this season but some of you are actually insane. I'm not even going to pursue the argument.
Tuna Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Fcuck me the fist Claudio out thread and it's only October!

People are now doing what always happens, you're in a bad time and pine for what happened before as though it was perfect. It wasn't, we had crap games under Pearson too and awful results- we lost 6 in a row at one point that season away from home. Last season Ranieri was brilliant, he organised the team superbly, the new signings added a huge amount and yes, we had momentum but tactically we were excellent. We need to ask why that isn't happening now and work to put it right instead of harking back to the last man and ignoring some of the crap he served up. Ranieri is a good manager- his career shows that. He's in a rough moment but he does have the ability to change it around. He's underperformed as much this season as he overdid last year. We need to meet in the middle somewhere.
psychonaut Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Delete thread. Have people lost their minds?! Ranieri is the greatest manager we've ever had. To even question his position is madness and frankly makes me feel ashamed that some of our fans would do this - 8 games into the season.

Who's to say another manager couldn't have got the same results and got the best out of mahrez and vardy. We were a team with belief and that belief came from the great escape. We added Kante, who gave us a brilliant midfield, signed for a position that needed strengthening and signed by the previous management team.

Although I'm against the idea as the man should be given the chance and believe loyalty should be in the game, with how we have been so far this season you can see logic behind the madness

On Tuesday we take on Copenhagen in the champions league. I'd sooner the club be liquidated and burn down the KP than ranieri be sacked.
Nod.E Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Let's worry when we lose to the Stokes, West Broms and Watfords of this league. Whilst today was awful, with particularly poor performances from Schlupp and Musa, let's remember who we're losing to. United, Liverpool and Chelsea are bigger, better teams. We should not be winning away against those teams. I agree it's disappointing to see us lose so easily but talk of changing manager is nothing short of retarded. Fvck any chat about opinions, that's just wrong. Have a word.
