fuchsntf Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Ranieri, is also dumbfounded, players who last year chased downcevery ball and with meaning, are not turning up.They are a ghost of their former selves... our whole pressing game counter checking..have been blown apart, because that come devil come all spirit has gone. Its not the opposition...The problem is at the players feet. We never had an high % of possesion last season, but the ideas have gone. Back 5 have imploded. We will need our home games to deliver, plus Claudio has now to look at his players and set up of permatations. Morgan is a major , major problem. It would now be easy to say his CB dsys are over at PL level. The players are the problem, they need to find their balls again, bcos they are stuck up their own arses. But this group we knew were never a confident talented side, with ample ball skills. Amnezia has set in they have forgot the spirit and fight, that drove them to the top last season. The pace and quick 1-2s have vanished, they are too long on the ball. Musa and Vardy or Slimani are not being given any decent service. We are knackered in body and thought..Ranieri knew the best way to use the players strengths, but the players are not giving him anything to work with. Seems King Dick has gave up the ghost, and his Spirit stsyed in hibernation with the team's.

To even question his position is madness and frankly makes me feel ashamed that some of our fans would do this - 8 games into the season. the only fault for Ranieri is to keep most his selection from last year. He should drop some of them. e.g. Albrighton, Huth
stevelcfc Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Christ. We've been abysmal but Claudio is a long way from getting the chop. This is embarrassing. You could hear Claudio yelling and getting angry on the touchline today, but the players and only the players are to blame at this stage. Simply not showing the desire or listening to whats required.
ousefox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I gave that fist Pearson comment a rep as I assumed it was a joke. Luckiest man in football? Yes he inherited a great mentality and players at the top of his game but Claudio's tactics were absolutely spot on last season throughout. I can't believe this has come up already. It's October and CL is obviously the target. I've been a bit pissed off with some of his tactical decisions this season, but he's just achieved the impossible and fans are already turning on him. Unbelievable.

Gary Eatfood Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 This thread is more embarrassing then today's first half performance.

Last season has gone to some of your heads. I am sorry but I think you're wrong. Any fan whose satisfied with the performance we have put in this season has got to desperately look at what they want from their team. Criticising Claudio, his team or his coaching staff for inept performances like that is not someone with hidden hope that we will win or. Compete for the league. We are losing because we are badly organised, lacking focus and horribly under-prepared! Not because the other team are superior to us. We made it easy for liverpool, Man U and now Chelsea and we don't seem to be adapting to our flaws! I don't expect us to be winning the league this year or any time soon but when the club have just dished out £70 odd million on players I expect to be a top half/mid table side. Instead we are a relegation fighting team. my post is not an attempt to rally up support for Pearson's return or an attempt to get Claudio sacked. It is however, frustration at a lack of clear direction from a manager (and his support staff) who has clearly missed a trick this summer. We knew there was a risk of losing the big three of last year. One went, yet we still don't even have an attempted replacement. We have been lacking in so many games this year yet Dont seem to be adapting in formation or personal. We don't have a cb of any real quality on the bench to challenge. We don't seem to have any ideas of how to break up play or attack with any purpose. So, tell me is this what we should quietly accept or risk the wrath of fans saying we've been spoilt? At least tell me that I can criticise our lack of defensive cohesion or is it acceptable that Diego Costa had enough time to stop make a cup of tea and then put the ball in the net. I want to see better leadership and that starts from Claudio end of story.
It'sblueupnorth Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 What I just don't understand is why we're not pressing like we were last season. We weren't a great team last year technically but you could guarantee every single player would be out for the oppositions throats from the off. Last season the thing that made vardy a menace was his willing to sprint at defenders and harass them all game, this season he looks like he can't be arsed and as a result his effectiveness has been limited. I can't believe that losing Kante has resulted in this bad form so it has to be managerial instruction. We can't be relied upon to play possession based football (although I think we should be looking to try and convert over to this style) we need to go back to what made us such a good side last season and play compact tight 2 banks of 4, with shinji dropping deep to act as a CAM. If we want to adapt in becoming a possession based football side then we need to recruit properly in January, 2 centre halves, a specialist right back and 2 centre mids is what we need. But right now we need to stick to our strengths because we don't have the players currently to play this way, we have 3 maybe 4 that are technically good enough.
sylofox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I do agree we need a formation Change. But Wes was still train spotting on Leicester station. That is not CR's fault and has nothing to do with rule change. Give Kasper the arm band Wes can't organise the proverbial.
splinterdream Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 18 minutes ago, Renart said: Are you all serious? You were spoilt last season! The away games that we have lost are exactly the games we would expect to lose! Ok - so the manner of some of the defeats hasn't been great but if we go back two seasons then no one would have been surprised by a 3-0 away defeat at Stamford Bridge. We need to reset our expectations. If we are losing against teams around us then that is not good but losing away at the top six is not a disaster. Europe is going well - and hopefully that will continue. Mid-table finish and a run in Europe is a good season for this club. Then we can go back to the plan of a more gradual building program by building a more structured squad (with depth). We will always have last year but it was an anomaly - that doesn't mean we didn't deserve it - and we need to look for a more gradual development. Let us not let it count against us by imagining that we have some kind of automatic right to repeat it. I'm sorry, I don't agree. We put ourselves in a position where if we'd prepared properly pre-season we shouldn't be expecting to lose in the manner we saw today. We should have targeted players to suit a change in formation because it was surely obvious that once Kante left 442 was never going to do it for us in the league. It's very concerning that Ranieri keeps persisting with it. I can't see a single player that came in the summer that has strengthened us, as a result I did expect us to lose but I don't think this was always inevitable

There's no question we have a larger proportion of 'intellectually challenged' fans than most.
Samilktray Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Genuinely terrifying how many people say bring Pearson back and seem to mean it.
m4DD0gg Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 This thread is embarrassing, anyone wanting pearson back should seriously stop being a leicester fan. We have taken 3 drubbings against 3 top top teams. No doubt mistakes have been made in the summer but to want to git rid of the man who won us our first Premier league title and replace him with someone who makes vladmir putin look sane is unbelievable.

Crinklyfox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Ranieri came to this club with the target of improving it. This is not a goal that can be completed in one season. Last year was spectacular and he overachieved. If by the end of his contract City are an established top ten club that challenges for Europe every season then he will have achieved his goal. I know things are difficult now but did anyone expect anything but a struggle to take us to where we want to be? Let the man manage and judge him on his performance over his contract rather than calling for his head when we hit a sticky patch. I know that's not an easy route for many but he's proven his ability already.

Harry - LCFC Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 The manager deserves to be criticised for his part in these defeats but as usual some people, people who just love to panic, let their heads explode and suggest getting rid.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 on the performance of the last four league away games we look clueless and putting in zero effort... are the players letting him down? or have we tried to change the high tempo and pressure game of last season to conserve energy for the CL games.

Unfathomable team selections. We have become an embarrassment. He rightly gets the credit for last season. By the same token, the buck stops with him this season.

m4DD0gg Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Bar champions league this season is a right off pretty much. Surely we must have some serious cash in the bank and there is no point rinsing it in January. In the summer i expect a big clear out.
