Don't think the players are fit enough/we have a big enough squad to do this every week like we did last season.

Its an interesting point and I know that approach does take a high level of fitness, but I'm not sure its any more demanding than for example the constant last ditching defending (which appears to be the extreme alternative) of the second half of last night's match.

When we really press, not only does the opposition make odd mistakes, but also it seems to afford us a bit more space and time on the ball as well, somehow.

Interesting point anyway. Not sure I entirely agree with you - but the common ground I'm sure we'd agree on is that we need other options in the middle if we are to play a high energy pressing game.

Did just enough, positives we are qualified, negative's, barring an indifferent first half we made a very poor side look good.

Teams now know if they put their team behind the ball, we struggle to have the skill to break them down, which they know they will get chances, and likely beat us.

Last night showed signs of this, but Brugge are that poor, when we did move it with purpose, they conceded.

Then we took the result for granted second half, and gave them a chance to get a result, reverting back to the shambolic football we have witnessed this season.

Hard game to take positives from, other than 10 minutes of good football, and the result, that we nearly threw away, but if we play like last night Saturday, we will be beaten.

Did anyone tape the game on BT and has a way of digitally sending it to me please?

I caught the ball in the crowd from a Jamie Vardy challenge in about the 85th minute and I shamelessly want to know if I got on TV, I smashed the Brugge player on the arse as well (oo err) with the throw back in.Genuinely a lifelong dream fulfilled right there,

Gray was outstanding when he came on, another 10 minutes and he'd have scored for sure. We need to find away of getting him in the team from the start regularly.

Also great goal by Sinj...lovely

Want Arsenal and Man City to finish 2nd and then we have a narrow field of just 5 teams to be drawn against

i suspect they will be

besiktas

bayern Munich

byer lavertoryscusen

Dortmund

seville

looks like a german team to me ....

Now a German team, would be nice...but in the next round....Means we got through the next hurdle..:)

Seriously,  I live reasonably central, if all tickets are not sold out, my son and I, presuming also other German foxes

will chase hard to getca ticket.  Leicester V Dortmund. My 2 teams in the CL against each other..wow..fking wow.!!!

In 2007, while at a Dortmund game, I said to my son, I would die an extactic happy man, if I could sit here and watch

City play BVB in a CL Knockout round...I am getting a bit  worried, I might be drawing my last breath sooner than expected.!!

Over all these years, I have stood only twice in the " Gelbe wand", that was many years ago. That said its a bloody marvellous

Sight, from any of the other the sides of the ground.

I have also been in the stadium when it was really empty...it just tingles, the atmosphere One can just feel.

Be it bias,...just has good as BARCA, and MADRID famous stadiums.Though the walk alone to the 2 spanish

Grounds on match day is out of this world....but they c dont have that electric,

bouncing Gelbe Wand..

Bollocks, if we had spurs group, or some of the others I mentioned, with would be fooked with our fickle side

I'm stating facts. You're just giving your (negative) opinion.

Saying it was 'luck' we qualified however, IS bollocks.

We gotta be the worse  team who have topped a cl group, other then first half v Porto. And last night we haven't been anything special at all!! How the hell are we top!! lol

Made Brugge (group whippin' boys) look like Real Madrid. Hope the circus style premier league performances are not creeping into the Champions League now!

Still, we are through and it will only be the big boys left to be drawn against so better up the performances!

It's all the cheery posts that makes coming on here worthwhile. We have just won a Champions League group with a game to spare.Wont see anything like it again in our lifetime supporting the team so let's just enjoy it for a couple of days, then you can all revert to type with the negativity.

Dr Singh should be good at diagnosing shits to be fair...not so hot at football pundritry with a sense of perspective - but everone has their own expertise....

I'm not an expert on anything nor claim to be, nor do I claim to be a football pundit.  I have an opinion, like others, this is a forum of different opinion, dedicated for such purpose...if you agreed with what I post, great, if you disagree great, but to slander me personally.......well let's just say it represents the type of person you are!!!!!

I enjoyed the game, felt 4-1 would've been a better reflection of the chances, we let them back into it but really it was our own nerves more than their pressure that made the game interesting.

Yes, we had a favourable group but we've dealt with it, won it with a game to spare and have conceded one goal in five games. On we go and it will be fantastic to be in the knockout stage.

I never said that, I said it was luck of the draw, which I  think we all would agree that a the results of a draw would be random and hence the resukts could be deemed as fortunate?

I refuse to belittle the group we've just come out of.

During my life time, I have seen countless English clubs same size as us and bigger than us, mess up European competition. In the past 18 months, we've had Southampton knocked out to a Danish team, West Ham knocked out by a Romanian team twice, Manchester United currently struggling in a Europa League group. Further back you have Hull lose to a Belgium club ranked 12th, Liverpool failing to get pass groups with Ludogorets/Basel and Lyon/Debrecen, Spurs out of groups with PAOK, Shamrock Rovers and Rubin Kazan.

These all teams English teams have failed to get pass who are equal or poorer than the group we've just had.

I was peeved at the second half performance where we still lose complete commonsense of the situation which saw us defending our 18 yard box from 70 minute onwards. Nearly equally peeved by a home crowd what appeared so entitled at 2-0 up that they couldn't support the team for a decent first half effort.

Enjoy yourselves.

I think you'll struggle to find a worse central midfield partnership than Andy King and Daniel Amartey. The next 3 games are massive in our season. We need to grind out a couple of results otherwise we are sucked in to it and could find it hard to get out.

Harvey Barnes.

I think both players work better in a midfield three but we haven't got a third centre midfielder available really at the moment.

Clearly was not luck that we were a top seed!!

He played ok - another unnecessary scapegoat for all you everlasting misery guts to take a poke at

Nope...He's a little bit crap. Can't see the point of buying a keeper thats no better than Hamer. Quite like the idea of last year and getting an oldie in as no 2.

That is a fair point though it is also arguable that some of these clubs did not take the competition seriously which have contributed to their elimination while we played our strongest eleven every match.

Only concern yesterday were the gaps left behind by the defence as the team moved forward.

Izquierdo deserves to be at a bigger club, thought he proved dangerous with his pace and determination.

FFS that's irrelevant. The point is that we STILL could have drawn some much harder teams than we did EVEN THOUGH we were in the top seeds. We got pretty much who we'd pick by hand (apart from maybe Porto!)  Dr. Singh's point is that we got the rub of the green/luck of the draw once we got to the "random" element point.  Any premiership team would have got out of the group, I would contend. They may not all have won it, but a lot would and some by many, many more goals than we did.

Yes that's true!!  Thankfully we missed the likes of Dortmund, monaco, lyon, athketico Madrid, luck was defo on our side.  otherwise, I dont think we would be creaming ourselves being in the champions league

Thought we were decent enough, did what we had to do and even in the second half we contained them pretty well. Has to be said and it most likely won't be very popular, the only person not to up their game after Watford was Mr Mahrez. Slow and ponderous on the ball again, selfish when he should have been passing it, gave it away more often than he retained it.

I'll probably get stick for it but it needs saying. He has us over a barrel at the moment, if we drop him he'll just sulk and his agent will put feelers out there again ready for January, meanwhile we have Gray sat on the bench desperate to make an impact. Even our Jeff looked more dangerous when he came on, powerful and direct, and could actually beat a man and get into a dangerous area. Don't get me wrong I love Riyad and everything he's done for us, but he looks a shadow of his former self at the moment and seems to be getting away with it week after week.
