Until they scored we were all over them and really should have had more than our 2. Then out of nothing Izquerido scored an absolute worldy. I think Fuchs and Zieler could have done better but take nothing away from the kid, he won the ball on the halfway line, drove 35 yards and hit a rocket. All of of a sudden they had hope and we clung on. That said Vardy had an offside goal and Schlupp and Gray could have put it beyond doubt. Don't forget that Brugge had to win to get anything from the group so had a free swing at the end. Simpson was MOTM for me, didn't put a foot wrong with Drinky also having a strong game. Gray deserves to start in the next game, he looked on it tonight! Still have the same problems we've seen all season but surely with this out of the way we can concentrate on the league until next year. Desperately need that new centre mid though so hope that's in the works.

The ball kept coming back into dangerous areas but at the end of the day they only managed a goal from a breakaway strike . It is churlish to criticise on such a great night but I must point out how totally ineffective King was throughout most of the half I'm afraid to say that he looks like someone afraid to get stuck in and just doesn't look good enough in the role of midfield enforcer

Matt Posted 22 November 2016 Posted 22 November 2016 That was better, well the 1st half was anyway, was like watching the team of last year in the 1st half very happy and impressed. 2nd half was abit shaky, not so great but we did enough. Shame to have conceded, I was eyeing up the record of not conceading in the group stages (Although only 1 goal conceaded must be near on a record? Providing we don't concede in Porto?) Anyway as exciting as it is and taking nothing away from tonight, enjoy it, get excited but it's time to forget about CL for the moment and focus on the league between now and February, time to start playing like we did in the 1st half/last season again!

It was good to see us linking up more like last season at times again tonight & I thought Gray really tried to impress in his short cameo. Take nothing away from their goalscorer it was a brilliant run but Zieler should be saving that at his near post all day long.

Fantastic achievement for the club progressing into the next stage of the Champions League, winners of Group G too. Hopefully we can now start to pick up our Premier League form, and start gaining points starting with Middlesbrough (H) on Saturday.

FFS ..For the 1st time proudly in this competition, we have no right on obligation or rights on Expectation. Our players have earnt the right to compete in this arena. They have delivered in 5 games, they have earnt support.. Brugge picked it up in the 2nd half, but we dealt with it creating ourselves top chances. Because one doesnt convert the chances, doesnt mean the build up was poor, and not entertaining..!!! I bet you are walking through life with a permanent scoul, and applied for the job as scrooge in this coming festive season....In your worldly travels you must of found the city 'Humbug'..

We have an unbeaten record and our last game still has a huge bearing on who qualifies with us. We can't just forget it and give up our never beaten record. Plus UEFA will keep an eye on the squad we put out.

Wtf you on about bruv, my response was to whoever about whatever. But this is the easiest group. I'm happy to have it and win it, but I can't gloss turds, we are turds. The performance want from good to shit, that is a concern, and I'm not willing to ignore that
