  • This is the first competitive encounter between Sevilla and Leicester City.
  • Leicester have never beaten Spanish opposition in European competition (D1 L3), with all games coming against Atlético Madrid (1961/62 Cup Winners Cup and 1997/98 UEFA Cup).
  • Meanwhile, Sevilla have lost three of their four Champions League games against English opposition (W1), their only win coming against Arsenal at home in November 2007 (3-1).
  • Leicester City are the first team since Malaga in 2012/13 to finish top of their group on their Champions League debut.
  • Sevilla have reached the Champions League knockout stages in three of their four appearances. However, they’ve never gone past the round of 16.
  • Sevilla have kept more clean sheets than any other side in this season’s Champions League (5 in 6 games).
  • However, Sevilla and Leicester City only scored seven goals in the group stages, the lowest tally among teams left in this season’s competition alongside Atlético Madrid.
  • Sevilla have won 10 of their 14 Champions League games (D1 L3) at home and have never failed to score in any of those 14 outings.
  • 83% of goals conceded by Leicester in this season’s competition came in their final group game (5/6), when they were already guaranteed of top spot.
  • Leicester’s possession average of 41.6% in the group stages is the lowest of any team to have reached this season’s round of 16.
  • Only Marco Verratti has completed more passes (479) than Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi (459) in this season’s Champions League.
  • Samir Nasri has only recorded one goal and one assist in 16 Champions League knockout games.
  • Jamie Vardy has had two shots on target in his first 424 minutes in the Champions League – none of them have found the back of the net.

If you arrive to Sevilla today or on Tuesday you can still buy tickets in our stadium. It seems tickets won´t be sold on Wednesday and the online service was disabled for this game.

What are the chances of the ticket office selling to English fans? Do they care or will it be strict?

LCFC.com has some important information for all Leicester City supporters travelling to Seville to watch the Foxes in the UEFA Champions League.

It is set to be a historic night for the Club as they contest the first of two last-16 ties at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday 22 February, 2017.
All fans making the trip to Seville are asked to take note of the below information to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Location: Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, Seville, Spain
Time zone: +1 hour GMT
Currency: Euro
Tickets: SOLD OUT

TRAVELLING FANS
Police wish to promote a relaxed atmosphere by offering the Arenal District of Sevilla, along Adriano Street, as a specific area for LCFC fans, with O’Neill’s Bar being the most prominent. O’Neill’s Bar is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from the main train station – Seville Santa Justa.
Seville Police have experience with UEFA Champions League supporters and will therefore engage with fans, but will under no circumstances tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour.
As a point of reference for fans, there will be designated Leicester City stewards in hi-vis coats with visible ID, located in the town centre.
It is the law in Spain that everyone must carry some form of ID on them at all times – preferably adriving licence or passport.
Landlords of public houses may refuse to allow fans to dress their hostelry in Leicester colours and we ask that fans respect their wishes. The content of the flag or banner must not be derogatory toward any topic or colourful language.

JOURNEY TO RAMON SANCHEZ-PIZJUAN STADIUM
Seville police will expect LCFC fans to congregate at approximately 6pm local time at the coach drop off point on the Menendez Pelayo Avenue for the escorted short walk to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The journey from San Pablo Airport, Seville to city centre via bus or taxi takes approximately 30 minutes.
Bus: EA buses operate from approximately 4.30am to around 12.15am. A single ticket costs €4, while a round trip costs €6.
Taxi: Outside the terminal, there are several taxis waiting for passengers. The trip to the city centre costs around €20-25 euros, while journeys times are dependent upon traffic.
The Seville train station, Seville Santa Justa, is located in the eastern part of Seville's city centre and this contemporary station provides service from Cordoba, Malaga and Madrid via the AVE and RENFE trains.
A metro system offers regular services around the City, but does not extend to the airport. This will transport fans around the City. However, the areas worthy of note are within walking distance. The average cost of a journey is €1.40 euros.
Upon arrival into Seville by coach, Leicester City fans will be transported to the Enramadilla Avenue, adjacent to the ticket office collection point (Viapol Hotel) and the second O’Neill’s pub.

Approximate walking distances:
Seville Train Station to O’Neills (by the river): 34 mins on foot
O’Neills (by the river) to Hotel Viapol (ticket collection point): 30 mins on foot
Hotel Viapol (ticket collection point) to Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium: 16 mins on foot
Seville Train Station to Hotel Viapol (ticket collection point): 22 mins on foot

TICKETS
The match ticket collection point will be located at Hotel NH Sevilla Viapol, Calle Balbino Marrón, 9, 41018 Seville, Spain, opening from 9am until 6pm local time.
Hotel Viapol is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium. A second O’Neill’s bar is located opposite the Hotel Viapol which may also be used by Leicester City fans.
Supporters will be required to present the passport that they have used to travel and their redeemable ticket voucher in order to collect their actual match ticket. All Champions League match tickets will be sold to individual Season Ticket Holders and Members using their unique supporter numbers and must be collected in person by the respective Season Ticket Holder - this includes all concessions and companions. We will only issue match tickets to the individuals that they have been allocated to.
Therefore, should the name on the voucher and the passport not match, you will not be issued with a match ticket. Other forms of ID and photocopies will not be accepted under any circumstances.

All tickets purchased under a Season Ticket Holder Supporter Number will not be transferable and cannot be used by any other supporter.
Supporters are advised to arrive at the ticket collection point as early as possible to avoid delays. There will be no opportunity to collect tickets once the facility is closed.
Those travelling with the Club’s Thomas Cook supporter travel will receive their match tickets on the flight.
Fans who DO NOT have a ticket for the fixture are strongly advised not to travel to Seville.
Please note, there will be NO ticket sales on the day of the game.

Tickets are SOLD OUT for the Sevilla fixture.

Every supporter that enters the stadium will be subject to a body search and will also have their bag searched. ID is required to support a valid ticket. Stadium officials may decline larger bags into the stadium.
It is a criminal offence to attempt to enter the stadium with fireworks, smoke bombs or marine flares.
Flags are allowed to be taken into the stadium but must refer to the visiting team only and must not be derogatory. Flags should be placed at the front of the lower tier and cannot be placed on the stadium’s fences.
Banned items include musical instruments, drinks, fireworks, sprays, objects with sharp points, sticks, toilet paper and other paper objects.

Throwing objects and beverages is strictly prohibited.

FAN LOCATION

The area for Leicester City fans in the stadium is NOT covered and therefore does not protect fans from the elements. Temperatures are expected to be mild in the day, but much cooler in the evening.
Leicester City supporters with disabilities will be located at ground level, in P15 section of the main stand, supported by specific facilities.
At the end of the game, LCFC fans must remain in their section until they are released by police. They will then be walked to their coaches, which will be located outside the stadium.

Just stay in the tie, please. A defeat by a goal or two and we're still in with a chance, all it takes is a fluke goal from a set piece early in the home leg and it blows wide open. If we get stuffed it kills off the only crumb of comfort left this season.

I concur with this! I fully expect to be beaten away to Sevilla, who are in all honesty an incredibly talented side. However if we can manage to keep it to within a 2 goal deficit, I will be happy. Even better if we can score and get an away goal.

Ultimately for me, I have no problem with being eliminated at the last 16 stage of the CL-my god we've done well to do this well on our first ever outing in the CL and I've thoroughly enjoyed the CL campaign. However I would like to go into the home leg with something to fight for, even if we do eventually go down.

En route. Can't wait to get out there and explore.

In terms of the football, I'd be over the moon with a 1 goal loss and an away goal.

Come on City, just keep it tight and make sure the home game isn't a dead rubber, that really would take the shine it completely.

The way we're playing lately and if true they are short on confidence(don't know how over £100k a week can make you lose your confidence !) but it really worries me that Sevilla are going to do a demolition job on us it could be a disaterous night in Spain for us, a night to definately not want to remember !

Reading Alan Smiths column saying we should be more aggressive and in the face of our opponents like last year but watching them lately apart from a couple I just can't see them doing that Vardy chased everything and took the pi55 out of the opposition last season this year the complete opposite !

Some are like petulant schoolboys who sulk when they lose the ball and just give up without a chase our back four are non existent at times, Vardy has disappeared into god knows where maybe his own behind where he's thinking he's greater than he is and Mahrez has almost forgotten how to take an opponent and his shoulders drop when he loses the ball and Slimani for £25m he needs to concentrate more and not miss so many sitters our boys are definitely not giving the owners value for money £100k a week for those pi55 poor performances it's like a mugging of the owners.

But who Ever is to blame on our demise whether it's Claudio or the players they need to  ( in those famous words of Negan !)

"SORT THEIR SHIT OUT !" Before it's too damn late and they are leaving it late to show up and be counted and do it now otherwise we will go into the history books again but for the wrong reason and become the laughing STOCK !

the players should be up for this like no other game in our history! if they want to keep the league excuses going then they need to win this! they are probably the final two glamour games of the season. nothing else apart from trying to avoid the slide! so they need to keep on the European merry go round and keep the fans dizzy!

We're the underdogs again for this one, just how we like it, no one expects us to be able to get anything from the game.

So for once they may actually turn up

You mean like Chelsea and yanited at home ?

We should at least be able to have two good outings of the following songs over the course of both legs.

"Champions of England you'll never sing that"

and

"we'll never play you again"

And at least this time both will be correct.

The area around that O'Neils () looks proper shit. Like the exact opposite of the area in Porto that we were given.

I wanted a nice open square with a few bars and loads of space to sit around and whip up a great atmosphere. We have been given 1 bar on the corner of a main road in the shadow of tall buildings.

And a shitty Irish bar to boot

3-0 drubbing it is then .... like the expression 'glamour' game .... by what we seen recently it's more likely to be a horror show!
