davieG Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Leicester owners give out Jamie Vardy masks to fans in protest of striker’s suspension By Omar Hamouda Posted on December 26, 2016 Leicester City owners have remarkably shown their displeasure at Jamie Vardy‘s red card last week, by putting masks of the striker’s face on each seat at the King Power Stadium today. The 29-year-old Foxes hit-man was sent packing early at the Bet365 Stadium last week against Stoke City, after lunging in on Mame Biram Diouf. Craig Pawson stunned many when he gave the England international a straight red card, particularly with replays showing Glen Johnson had nudged Vardy and put him off balance as he went into the tackle. Referee’s column: Why Jamie Vardy deserved a red card and eight other decisions discussed from last week Leicester appealed the red card, but The Football Association failed to rescind the red cad and the forward is now serving a three-match ban. That ban starts today with Vardy not available for the game against Everton, but roughly 30,000 replicas of the striker will be. The club have put masks of Vardy’s face on every home seat in the ground for the game against the Toffees, with the board clearly furious with the decision to not overturn his red card.
BigWesMorgan Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 This is actually proper hilarious but you just know people are still going to make the tinpot etc comments. Top Banter
HighPeakFox Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 A very effective way of channelling a siege mentality. I'm now more optimistic about today...
Dr The Singh Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 I thought they were George Michael masks, I didn't know he was a Leicester fan?
Harry - LCFC Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Sort of thing you'd do at a child's party. Cringe.
goose2010 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 So many 'lads' not happy about this... don't use it simple as. The amount of football snobaby in this forum is shocking at times. I think it's shocking that they won't have a gluten free option mince pie to!
kingfox Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Send us back to League One for this. The owners have done great for the fans but this idea is their worst.
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 There's a fine line between funny banter and being a twat, and I'm struggling to work out which side this falls.

MC Prussian Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 It's a fun gesture and could potentially enhance the impact of our support today. Great idea! I can't think of many other football club owners in England, let alone in Europe interacting this way with the fanbase. Enjoy it while you still can.
VLC86 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Can we have a round of applause in the 9th minute because he is number 9, 11th minute because of his 11 in a row and 24th for his goals last season please.
Webbo Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Does anyone think that with the owners/ Claudio's uncharacteristic criticism of the ref that they are trying to create a siege mentality amongst the fans/players ?
