Hitesh Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 One signing we clearly need is one similar to when we signed Huth on loan. Looking around the Premier League at the moment though it appears options would be limited and I also don't think we currently have the recruitment quality in place to do this. I'd rather we go for much needed premier league experience rather than taking a pricy risk on an unproven defender. If we can emulate the signing we made a few years ago then I think we'll be OK but could be a failure of the recruitment team if we can't.
l444ry Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 100% agree. Huth and Cambiasso got Pearson out of jail by sorting things out for him on the pitch, and probably off of it as well.

Fox92 Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 Huth helped Morgan improve and when Huth doesn't play we miss him so much. This is why in the summer I wanted a replacement for Morgan to play alongside Huth.

Watch the corners at OT they sum up his season.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 What about Kevin Wimmer? Or is he third in line at Spurs and unlikely to come our way?
SheppyFox Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 Who's that big chap at the back for Sunderland? I forget his name but he was a big part in their survival last year.

This is because of him trying to join Everton in the summer and then being forced to sign a new contact. He will be going AFCON though.

Hitesh Posted 28 December 2016 Author Posted 28 December 2016 There will have to be a time, sooner rather than later, that CR has to drop Morgan and/or Huth but has to have an adequate replacement in. Not sure Keane is that player but would be good if we can get another experienced player in.

Clever Fox Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Smalling or Jones would be a good call but probably cost 20 Mil each. Can't be on huge salary at utd either which makes them a good shout.

Smalling is better than all of our centre back options in my eyes.

If we could get them both for 40 Mil or less it would be great business.
thegaffa Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Would love jones or smalling but can't see Utd wanting to let either go, if they do get either or both in
