Indeed. its possible to be a great manager of a situation when things are going well, and simultaneously not a great manager when things are going badly. Different skill sets. Love the guy, massive respect for what he did, but he couldn't turn the situation around. What he's said tonight doesn't give me much confidence he would have if he had stayed.

glenny_fox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Don't know which is worse, claudios English or carraghers English.
AKCJ Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Yeah his English is fine. Hes currently speaking on television in front of millions of people and we can all understand him perfectly.

Apparently he's forgotten the complete embarrassments against Man United and Liverpool. Did he forget the utter shambles against Man Utd x2, Chelsea x2 and Liverpool? The combined score in those five games were 17-2. Seventeen-Two.

Yes it is really sad actually and very painful to watch as I completely agree with you. The players did have issues but they were not the only ones and clearly credibility within the club to turn it around was eroding. Can they just cut to bloody palace versus The Arse - timing of this could not be worse but actually maybe Shakey will get the players to be even more together with him for Wednesday - I hope so!!
Corky Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 He's not the first manager and won't be the last to have one great season then struggle the next. It was a huge shame he was sacked, I'd have loved him to still be here with us on around 43 points and comfortable, preparing to face Atletico Madrid but unfortunately it didn't work out that way. He will always be a hero at this club and I hope one day in the not too distant future he'll be back at half time or before a match so we can give him the standing ovation and acknowledgement he deserves. This season was so bad though and something had to be done. I hope he gets another job and does well, I have no bitterness towards him. Let's hope we can all move on after this.

With the danger of sounding a bit derogatory towards elderly people, I can see one problem being a 65-year old in charge. For how long can you maintain that hunger and passion for the game even at an advanced age? At some point, you've got to realize you don't have it any longer and with Claudio, I fear he's just gone past the expiry date in terms of management capabilities. His measures with regards to diet and staff picks at LCFC come across as a bit... erratic.

Lesteban Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 This appearance seems convinces me further that the doctor I spoke to a few weeks back was telling he truth. (See "inside story" thread I started a few weeks back, just commented on it so near the top of the forum.) Clearly Ranieri has an issue with someone inside the club, but insists the players weren't an issue, at least not an unexpected issue...

Don't you think it's a little bit simplistic to suggest he just lost his ability at some point between last year and this?

Gforce19 Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 The ultimate issue when it is all said and done was the £100m and more we would lose if relegated ,,,, too much risk

Matt Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Right I can understand where people are coming from when speculating the unrest came from Shakey and I somewhat agree. However anyone this it was possibly the phsycologist, Ken Way? Ranieri mention there were problems last season as well, as well as the lead up to this season, Ken Way was disposed of in the summer in quite a harsh and undignified fashion, perhaps this led to unrest between backroom staff and player mentality for this season. Strange how Ken Way only spoke and got stories out after Ranieri's sacking aswell. Hey i'm only speculating but I feel it could be a potential scenario.
