Who else is behind him other than the assistant manager that took his job? There are plenty of backroom staff and there's Rudkin, CE, Top. If it was someone who reported to him he was quite capable of getting rid of them. Of course it could be no one perhaps he's making it up as an excuse or paranoid. If he's not saying we'll never know and speculating it's Shakey is unfair and unjustifiable.

dylanlegend Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 I think we have seen a different side of Claudio tonight, I can't see how this will do him any good at all? He seemed to be overstating his achievements at other clubs and when asked what the difference between this season and last said "last season we had one attack and scored, the opposition had two attacks and missed, this season we had 2 attacks and missed and the other team had one attack and scored" I do love Claudio but is he really this dillusional? We were appalong pretty much all season and never really dominated anyone? Im not surprised the players lost faith if he used to come out with stuff like this!? Also, when discussing tactics it doesn't really make much sense. Im sure a lot of people must have watched and thought WTF is he talking about!?

Didn't Richard Keys say the same about Pearson, that there was someone working against him behind the scenes.

I don't know but it obviously wasn't Shakey There were stories he didn't get on with Ruskin but like all this stuff just speculation.

Not behind as in heirachy.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 I haven't watched his appearance tonight, but from what has seemingly been said I must say he hasn't done himself any favours. Reading his quotes I do find myself veering more to the players side of the argument. Unfortunately when it was first announced, I could only think it would go one way.

If you read the Fuchs and Ulloa articles, both allude that our title winning season was down to belief and momentum instilled by the great escape. bovril Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Tbh I'm struggling to give a shit about this any more. We won the league ffs. Love Claudio, love the players.

Shit...me Machine is really fked, not to mention my sorter.. I am lost, so I am off to be a martyre to any holy crusade that will take me. Oh woe is me.

I just can't love him after tonight. He came across as arrogant and tried to play the sympathy card. He tinkered with things that didn't need fixing, he dug his own grave. Now he needs to accept his mistakes and move on. The players publicly talking about the great escape and club unity that season, says all I need to hear to suggest Claudio is not the man we perceived he was, while it was all going well last year. I honestly think Doris the tea lady could have been in charge and kept everything the same to keep the momentum going.

Not taking away anything from Claudio, but preparation pre season, and momentum is a big thing, we kept it after the great escape, and we saw what a pointless pre season tournament did this season.

Exactly. Poor decision making by Claudio. A series of fatal errors and poor decisions, both tactically and behind the scenes have undone all that was good the year before.

Dr The Singh Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 My respect for Pearson has increased. There is no way Pearson would do a interview like that. CR is mature enough to know better, why why why. It's all coming out about bitter really
Guest Dirkster the Fox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 It's all about Claudio....screw the club. Anyone know what happend on the 14th November 2014?
Blue ROI Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Only watching this now but given the reactions here in mind this looks extremely awkward/painful viewing.
Beachyboy Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 "use in the right way your players" Ranieri 10/4 ?

I don't know how much the pre season was Claudio call, the owners would have had a big say, for commercial, and financial benefits, did hear a rumour we were payed about 10 million for the tournament. I will be forever great full to Claudio, because he was the manager that brought us the greatest title in our history, but with the above, poor transfer windows, and returning to the tinkerman, and the club setting the bar so high last season, he struggled, and I really hoped he would turn it around, the decision was a sad one to make, but the right one sacking him.
