Guest CityFan 06 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Good result. We're well in this heading into Tuesday's home leg, I think we can go through.
ZeGuy Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Awesome result but also tricky. 2-1 loss at the KP and they're still through. Based on what I saw in the second half: Happy Benny was at the back to the contrary to what some here wanted. Mahrez was shit. Drinkwater was shit (and at carrying an injury. He's been shit for months now) Gray to start on the left from now on. Mahrez needs to be dropped. Can't wait for the people starting to slate Slim.
shawy2510 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Result ok but need to give it to them next week. Drinky needs to wake the F up though. Hes been shite for ages now.

Guest Danny Clender Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 A low standard of refereeing did not help, obviously.
oxtonfox Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Let's not criticise too much. Mahrez is class he just hasn't shown his skills tonight. The point is that we are still in the tie with a chance. Well done lads and the fans - great job.
limeydale Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Squeaky bum game that, was surprised with late subs but hey we're only 1-0 down and going to our house Shakey knows a thing or two.

If we can have a full 11 at home, we really will do these. Are you decking serious? There is no way you can get a result like that, with 8 men against a team Like Athletico. Cant even imagine who the 3 are your referring to not showing up. Clueless
danfox76 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 poor poor poor performance, cant pass for shit, and why wasn't we pressing and forcing mistakes, this is what we're best at when not on the ball.. half the team looked like they'd conceded defeat after 10 minutes... how its only 1-0 i don't know, but if we play like that at home we're doomed.
Samir Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 We were excellent defensively tonight, just need to improve on positioning. the fullbacks were caught high a few times. However, I would have bitten your hand off for a 1-0 and am ecstatic that they we have a chance in the second leg.

urban.spaceman Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Very, very pleased with that performance. The ref was a disgrace though.
ramboacdc Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 i wouldn't mind if we played the reserves against palace now with huth and kasper at the back. Take the fine and get everyone rested for Tuesday. we are safe from relegation and may as well go for this. Its not impossible. 1 goal and this game heats up massively.
Carl the Llama Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Tbh 1-0 isn't my favourite scoreline in the sense of a two-leg tie with the away goal rule: It means just one goal for them next time out leaves us needing three which kinda sucks. On the other hand as a standalone away game against Madrid that's a phenomenal result especially when you consider that their goal came as the result of a bad refereeing decision (following a stupid foul).
rn9013 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Let's be honest most of us would have taken 1-0 at kick off. It's just a shame their goal came from a dodgy penalty decision rather than a moment of class. On the the plus side the tie is still very much alive and o can't wait for the game at the KP on Tuesday! The atmosphere will be amazing. Shame Huth picked up a yellow, but At least Vardy and Ndidi are available for the second leg. Overall, not a bad result, all to play for! come on Leicester!!!!!!

Gray deserves it.

Kitchandro Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Centre backs were amazing. Everyone else may as well not have been been there. We were well outclassed, yet robbed by the referee, and no one can convince me he wasn't under some incentive to give decisions to Atletico. Tactically and individually I thought we were poor and it's going to be very tough. I accept we've got worse players but we really didn't give ourselves a chance to score the away goal. I just wish we'd have had a go.
cityfanlee23 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 And to think half the forum had written Benny off Looking forward to Mendy and Kaputska turning out to be top class now.
Karljohn Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Mahrez laying off 50/50 balls all night he was shit. Other than that they did very well. Early goal will make it interesting.
M0901 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Definitely give Gray a run out next leg. Unleash his raw pace and ability, give him a go. Mahrez to be dropped, Albrighton was brilliant tonight and showed his importance to the team, the non penalty aside...
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Ok result given the pressure we were under for most part of the game and the amount of chances Atlético created - and that noise! Tough return leg up next week, but we still have a chance of making it one stage further. I've said it in the match thread, you can lose away at Atlético Madrid and not feel down about it. It's just the manner of defeat that grinds me, with a rather dodgy ref calling the wrong shots. NOT ONE SINGLE YELLOW CARD HANDED OUT AGAINST THE HOSTS! Mahrez' influence in attack was pretty much nullified, but I thought the whole team worked their socks off. What a fight tonight - true Foxes spirit! Our defense was fantastic, Benalouane in particular calm and collected. Cool as ice. Very impressed. He'll be up there with Morgan for the home game, no doubt.

Harry96 Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 It's actually baffling how only now benny is getting some game time.
