Benny clear motm. Huth outstanding.

Might have had next to no chances up front but my god did we defend well.

Can't wait for the next leg

poor poor poor performance, cant pass for shit, and why wasn't we pressing and forcing mistakes, this is what we're best at when not on the ball.. half the team looked like they'd conceded defeat after 10 minutes... how its only 1-0 i don't know, but if we play like that at home we're doomed.

Are you actually serious? Surely you can't be serious??

Slimani has a 2 inch vertical, poor guy. We need a strong physical presence playing in Okazaki's position, would Slimani make a difference there? Seems like he too was getting bossed around. I wonder if Vardy behind Slimani would actually be good for the second leg.

I love Kaspar blatantly want to say "yeah there were plenty of yellows flying about... except for Madrid players!!!"

happy with that result tbh, even though we was seemingly going against 12 men half the time with the ref being a complete ........

going to be something on Tuesday night, hopefully we can create an atmosphere greater than that of the Sevilla game

Mahrez was bad, no question, but let's not act like they didn't give him the ball and were just standing there instead of running into space/helping him.

Here we go.

For the home leg can we have a yellow card on EVERY seat that we brandish for every one can wave for every minor Madrid infraction!

Can we also have arrows on the seats to help our attack? Our defence was immense today and Benny was superb (we'll miss Huth in second leg) but we need to play more smartly in the attacking phase than hoping Vardy can get on the end of a long high ball with two defenders keeping him occupied

Showing a real lack of understanding for the game of football and the gulf in class here fella. Great result that. If we play our pressing game away to Madrid, we commit men into challenges, get caught out and get thumped in the process.

Wasn't pretty to watch but that was good game management and appreciation of the tie from the team and staff.

Benny is a class defender I find it hard to see how you put Wes back in to be honest

Hes the club captain. That's probably the reason why they will..

Very, very pleased with that performance. The ref was a disgrace though.

Result, yes. Performance, no. Kept at arms length by a team that knew that if they didn't concede an away goal, they will fancy themselves to bag a goal at the KP, and know they won't concede 3.

Our performance was so poor because AM are an absolute masterclass in how to play football without the ball. Stifled Mahrez and at times defended on the 18 yard box with their CBs to render Vardy useless. There won't be a team on the planet who feel more comfortable at 1-0.

All that said, at least we're still in it lol

I'd suggest anyone critical of Mahrez performance tonight rewatches the game and look at him again.

It from the usual attacking flare we are used to seeing from him, but from a work rate and defensive point of view.

He did the things tonight Gray wouldn't have done, hence why Gray didn't come in for him.

We set out our tactics for a result and got it, or would have got a better result but for an appalling refereeing decision.

Well played lads, bring on Tuesday

Can't wait for next Tuesday, feel with an electric atmosphere they may not know what's hit them. I'd love nothing more than to see us beat them and get Simeone sent to the stands.

Be fair to Atletico, they're a good side.  The way they press and swarm whenever any of our midfield got the ball was exceptional.  So although it wasn't an exciting match and not much to cheer as a City fan, it sets up next Tuesday for a great night.

Ahahah same old same old. Didn't see him getting bossed around. Actually I saw him winning some aerial duels and pressing.

Can the mods please ban people who know nothing about football. Anyone saying we were poor, couldn't pass, never looked like scoring needs to go and have a word with themselves. Phenomenal effort against a world class team. They play like we do but can do it a million times better. We still have a chance at the kp now so stop moaning!!

Thing is though, they didn't look anything special, and don't forget they were at home

Defence superb. Drinkwater was terrible on the ball, gave it away or passed the buck onto someone else rather than trying to take control. Albrighton worked his bollocks off.

Unfortunately just can't see us beating these, we can't afford to attack from the off because of the risk  of an away goal.

Still, going to be a huge occasion on Tuesday.

On the contrary. I'd attack them on the off. We're not equiped to play deep, Drinkwater is completely out of form but will still play and our defense will miss Huth. They will score one way or another. We just have to score more.
