AjcW Posted 3 December 2017 Posted 3 December 2017 I was shocked with the MOTD lot saying it was a penalty, and Howe.... and then Moss even says it! If Vardy or Sterling launch themselves like that they’d be lynched!
ealingfox Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 (edited) I thought it wasn't a pen and was a clear dive tbh. Surprised so many people thought it was stonewall. In some ways I'm happy for stonewall pens to not be given if the player throws themselves over theatrically. Though not when it's us, obviously. Edited 4 December 2017 by ealingfox
Wymsey Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 Former PL referee appears very honest here, but was perhaps too kind to Spurs during that certain game.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42219327
filbertway Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 No idea how anyone can say it's a penalty. He's dived. I don't understand how you can think otherwise
jammie82uk Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 Spurs v West Ham fixture has been moved for the second time this time from New Year’s Eve to the 4th of January to allow more fans to attend as it was restricted to 43,000 capacity if played on New Year’s Eve

On Facebook there are people complaining of match fixing after what Clattenburg said. Surely the fact he didn't send any Spurs players off meant it benefitted Spurs?

The fact Spurs still couldn't win was their fault, but he gave them an unfair advantage. It's match fixing and it's fraud, he should actually be banned from the sport for life prosecuted like the FIFA officials. How is it not 100 times worse than that non-league goalkeeper who ate the pie, or Joey Barton betting on random matches?

It's rank, but it's neither fraud, corruption or any other highly emotive word you angrily chuck at it.

Well it is explain how it isn't? These aren't emotive words: Corruption - dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery. Fraud - wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. If something similar happened in horse racing they'd be jailed, or at the very least banned for several years.

His actions didn't directly affect the score line so it cant be classed as fixing a match. People would have won bets just as much as people losing them. To openly say that he effectively didn't send players off when in his mind he knew it warranted a red card is wrong I can agree with that. TBH im not even sure why he has bothered coming out with this statement.

Also TERRIBLE Copy writing... 'a new crystal palace' actually refers to their glass interpretation at the front of the stadium... but sounds a bit like they're trying to get rid of the shite team Edited 4 December 2017 by AjcW

Almost like the "its my first one" plea a player makes about a tackle. Youve got to referee to its merit surely? Cant just see a red card offense and not give it. 2

KFS Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 Looks like Palace have only done half the ground on that. Half Allianz, half shitty existing ground.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 Where has the space come from for that?
Koke Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 Can't wait til tinpot Palace disappear down to to the Championship. 1

Palace away is one of my favourites and I like Selhurst as it is but it seems tight enough atm. Unless they're knocking down some buildings like Liverpool did. Edited 4 December 2017 by Fox92

The ground will look ridiculous after this development imo. Two fantastic, huge stands coupled with two tinpot little ones on the verge of falling down. Somewhat reminiscent of Filbert Street, on a slightly larger scale.
Footballwipe Posted 4 December 2017 Posted 4 December 2017 The announcement of Michael Oliver as ref for the Manchester derby this Sunday has once again affirmed the three certainties in life Death Taxes Both teams' fans moaning the referee will cost them any points when they hear who the referee is for their game. 1

He's probably the best ref we have. Like him
