No VAR next season then..

I presume this does mean we won't hear managers on the wrong end of a contentious decision moaning about lack of video technology etc

Not that I think VAR would work in football as its current form because it would just simply be another means for players and managers to influence the officials by getting them to look at any minor indiscretion leading to a foul/penalty etc.

You would need strict guidelines as to when it should be used - not for every goal or half penalty shout which seemed to happen in the cup games.

They can't really.moan because at the minute they have it both ways and they moan more about having it (even when it helps them) than when they don't and it screws them.

Managers will still moan as it’s not them who have made the decision, it’s the club owners who have made the vote

Reports this week in France Football this week claim that former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri could be the next Everton manager.

This managerial change would be a superb coup for the Toffees, as bringing in a manager who has experience elevating a struggling side to the very top of the league is exactly what Everton require.

The Italian is currently plying his trade in France with FC Nantes, steering the club into an impressive eighth place, just three points off fifth position.

After winning the Premier League in 2016 with the Foxes, his status at the King Power Stadium quickly became untenable the following season, leading to his controversial sacking in February 2017.

Many supporters feel as if Ranieri had been severely hard done by Leicester City, acrimoniously fired less than a year after the most unlikely triumph in Premier League history.

There is no doubt that Ranieri has a point to prove in England and would be eager to be granted a chance at Premier League redemption.

A return to England as the manager of Everton would be the perfect move for both parties involved. Sam Allardyce has proved deeply unpopular with the Goodison Park faithful this season, with a reign marked by uninspiring performances and an insipid style of play.

Ranieri is famous for his man-motivation, tactical genius, and superb levels of organisation. His unique implantation of the famed 4-4-2 formation would slot in smoothly with the current Everton squad. Exciting wingers, in the shape of Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott, would be poised to whip in dangerous balls to lethal strikers Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

With Allardyce likely to depart at the end of the season, Everton should turn to Premier League champion Claudio Ranieri to revitalise the proud club. And perhaps just like at Leicester, the Italian can take an underperforming side and propel them to glory.

Yes - I did like Pardew's excuse about it causing injuries when they played Liverpool.

Rather summed up his reign at West Brom!

(Then he lets them out till gone mid-night on a boozy night out) - hardly great for fitness and the body.

The main issue seemed to be the lack of communication and time taken - again it didn't help that in the Spurs/Rochdale game the temperature  was minus figures so no wonder people didn't like standing around waiting!

We won't be so down on VAR if it keeps us in the World Cup this summer...

Preston North End won it twice, means fvck all. Olden days football was rubbish and most clubs won the First Division at some point as it was a free-for-all for many years. No one wins the Premier League except the heavyweights, our Premier League title will never ever be eclipsed as an achievement in domestic football. I'm actually struggling to think of a scenario that would be more impressive. Maybe if Millwall get promoted and won it next season. But I bet you £5,000 that doesn't happen.

Do your research...Luke the PL has had its varities and several Teams winning it,then look

Since 1900, at the differerent big Clubs also having their long eras of success.

Not all and sundry and most Clubs, won the 1st Division title, plus Leicester had great Moments, but like another 82+ clubs, also with their small successes, still didnt win the covetted trophy.

Football isnt just about trophies, its the journey, the entertainment, the taking part,Like

we did for 130yrs and even now, because without the " others"  and the Individual skills of

the players in those eras, how can the "champions" of any ERA claim any merit of achievement.

Just to Prove a very bias point, dont belittle other achievements, and their success, and Quite pathetic, and lazy view point,in coming up with 'Rubbish' just to again qualify a bias opinion.

I used to argue the same point, with my dad and my olders,AS I do with the younger generations,

Respect and appreciate the past, without denying the future...

Or success achievement, with those fond memories, plus future ambitious have no point or favour.

Ignorance at any level,is a Plattform for egoism and envy.

Religion,Politics and Football, are the proof we are full of it..

lol what’s going to go wrong for them next?

Assume he can’t play then? Although I doubt Darren Moore would be that keen anyway!

I think he’s do well there. So sad the way he left us... It was the right decision but want an absolute gentleman he is. Still convinced had we kept Kante he’d still be in charge here.

Obviously you winning the title was a much bigger achievement but Leicester did not have the PL's second lowest wage bill.

If Burnley do finish 7th with the 19th best budget I can see why pundits like Shearer, Murphy and Merson are singing Dyche's praises.

Quite a few ex-players are saying Dyche should get manager of the season because Guardiola has spent an absolute fortune in transforming City into title winners. Could Pep, Mourinho, Klopp, Conte, Pocchetino or even Wenger get this Burnley squad to 7th?

*****Dyche is being interviewed on "The Premier League Show" on BBC2 (tonight 10pm) if anyone interested.:)

I thought that winning was about having the players play well enough to win more points than any other team in the league. I didn't realise that being mean with paying out cash was relevant to achievement. Burnley and Dyche are penny pinching whinging mongrels.

No you're right, with the 15th highest wage bill in 2015/16 I expected us to romp to the ****ing title

But you don't understand. 19th is so much lower than 15th. Anyway look at how much Burnley's 7th/8th placed title winning squad cost compared to Leicester 1st place winning title squad.

Yes...Burnley two top-flight titles to the Foxes' one.:) Maybe you'll level it a 2-2 in a year or two.

Leicester are ranked 24th with 51 seasons in the top  flight and Burnley one place ahead in 23rd with 55 seasons in the top tier.

If you're so great why are you making such a big deal about possibly finishing 1 place above us this season?

I really hope we dob your lot this afternoon.

Can't see Southampton going down but a lot of players worth looking at if they do.

I heard from a friend the other day that Puel wants Tadic and we'd be seriously in for him if they go down. I wouldn't be against it.

Bertrand would be good as well but can imagine there'd be bigger clubs in for him. I quite like Romeu as well.

Shit that Burnley have Chelsea next and we have Southampton on this showing...

Southampton have so much more to play for though. What do Chelsea have? Still can't see them winning this game though and if Southampton do lose, their confidence is going to be really low.

Really?

We're complaining about how the fixture list has panned out seeming to 'allude' to excuses that that's the reason we won't finish above Burnley? :dunno:

If we turn up, which is questionable we won't have anything to worry about. As I said, the question needs answering though.

Unfortunately however we've not turned up in previous games and I believe the damage has been done.
