Bollocks. A Saints win sees Palace drop into the bottom 3. Can't wait til those Italian mob wannabes flush down to the Championship.

It's all gone a bit Shane Long for Southampton

All the money in the world on Mark Hughes blaming Mike Dean for the result.

can kind of understand it in one way since Mike Dean should have sent Alonso off, but the defending from Southampton has been awful.

personally think Southampton are down now, I'd be surprised if they stay up now with the fixtures they have left,

I'm a bit conflicted with this, I really don't like Mark Hughes so I'm enjoying watching his misery continue, but I've always had a soft spot for Southampton, and I don't want to see them go down. Hopefully they will be completely deflated next week, rather than going for the win. Doubt it though. We really need to get all three points this afternoon, otherwise Southampton will have more to play for than us.

There’s genuinely nothing funnier than seeing mark Hughes upset

The worst possible defeat. 4-0 and you accept they are better, 2-0 up and lose and the points were almost yours.

Could be a killer in terms of survival.

Yes - I did like Pardew's excuse about it causing injuries when they played Liverpool.

Rather summed up his reign at West Brom!

(Then he lets them out till gone mid-night on a boozy night out) - hardly great for fitness and the body.

The main issue seemed to be the lack of communication and time taken - again it didn't help that in the Spurs/Rochdale game the temperature  was minus figures so no wonder people didn't like standing around waiting!

We won't be so down on VAR if it keeps us in the World Cup this summer...

Spot on.

Apart from the world cup bit. We'll be fuming when it controversially dumps us out!

Makes surviving next season easier if Huddersfield stay up at the expense of Saints, Stoke etc. Huddersfield escape this year, but doubtful they'll survive (if as probable Wagner goes back to Germany).

Southampton have to win on Thursday, and probably will. The alonso decision will give king of excuses Mark Hughes a reason to complain but they were a shambles once they conceded 1.

I agree, the teams going this year will probably mean Brighton and Huddersfield stay up who I'm not convinced by. If Cardiff and/or Millwall are promoted I think they'll both really struggle so both of our clubs would have to very poor to finish below those sides.

Anyone still watching sky sports?

This right here is why we have a poor standard of refereeing, instead of admitting a referee has made a mistake the ref coaches, fellow referees and PGMOL instantly try and defend them. How are they possible to learn from their mistakes if they’re not being told that they are?!

Dermot trying to defend the Southampton ref, its pretty pathetic really, I do not like Wise but both the pundits are correct in saying how poor the ref was, the ref being Mike Dean.
