AjcW Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 (edited) How on earth has Alonso got in again? Agree with Essex, Young streets ahead at left back this season. Ben Davies at Spurs as well. Robertson at Liverpool! No Bobby F is a bit of a scandal as well. Edited 18 April 2018 by AjcW

Pffft. Atrocious defender who just happens to play in a great team who dominate possession. Got exposed whenever teams took the game to MC. Personally, I would have gone for Tarkowski.
Fox92 Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 Obviously have to play for a big club. Not sure how Mee or Takowski aren't in.

Yes, yes they did. Their name, coincidentally, was Martin Tyler. I remember he went through a phase around 4-5 years ago saying it all the time.
AjcW Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 Sky are doing a 'pick your own' team of the season thing http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11336590/team-of-the-season-pick-your-alternative-to-the-pfa-line-up There's limitations in who you can select but I came out with this. Personally think the difference Ederson has made to Man City this season, even if he hasn't faced as many shots as some, is enough to give him the nod in goal over De Gea. Defence was tough, I selected Walker but that could easily have been Robertson/Davies or Mee
Stadt Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 DDG Walker Mee Tarkowski Robertson Silva De Bruyne Eriksen Salah Kane Sterling Ederson, VVD, Davies, Fernandinho, Sane, Lukaku, Vardy.

The Bear Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 He's fallen out of favour with Poch at the back end of this season but he's still been Spurs best defender.

He's been injured since start of November and only returned in February briefly. Whether he's been Spurs best defender is irrelevant. He's not in the top 3 centre-backs this season purely because he's missed majority of it. Tarkowski/Azplicueta you've already got. Mee, Otamendi, Vertonghen, Mawson, Maguire, Smalling, Rudiger. All been better. Even players like Lascelles at Newcastle could be considered.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 Shame the actual team of the year has no balance to it otherwise Fernandinho would be a shoe in, he's been phenomenal this season
gurru991 Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 David de Gea just interviewed...Most boring interview ever !!
Vacamion Posted 18 April 2018 Posted 18 April 2018 Just watched a bit of the BT Sport pre match. You can tell that ‘Arry really didn’t take too kindly to being corrected a few times by Jake Humphrey, especially after ‘Arry said Bournemouth have done well “on a shoestring budget”. He prolly needs the wonga though, so he buttoned his lip and had a face like he’d licked a lemon.

The way they dominate that part of the pitch him, KDB and Silva should all be in.
