Come on, either you support him or you don't, but don't switch agendas like that I think most are angry at the potential fee that has been banded about all over the internet. Most were resigned to him leaving by the end of the season, however we don't want our pants pulled down with the fee we receive. Also add to the fact it appears he's going Arsenal and I ****ing hate Arsenal.

No need tl be bitter about a player leaving that helped a club win their first league title.. I agree from that point of view Wymesy there is no need for damaging anything over this whole sorry affair

The chairmen didn't build an empire that is King Power Group by getting pushed over, so I trust that they will stand their ground especially considering the fact that Mahrez is under contract until 2021. They have no obligation to sell.

I will always love him though, and that is all that matters in this world.

We've got to a point now where we may as well have an MLS trade system because clubs don't give a shit about a fee really, they make all their money on Merchandise and TV deals, the movement of players is probably a tiny consideration on the balance sheet at the end of the season. Mahrez will move for an undisclosed amount that could be £45 million or could be £25 million, but really it won't matter or affect our transfer budget, if Shakespere wants to spend he'll be allowed to because we've made an absurd amount of money the last three years and will continue to this year. I agree with this entirely. Transfer fees are now a complete irrelevance given how loaded clubs are, perhaps with exception of Uddersfield and Burnley.

You cant both be serious surely? for a start, our owners didn't get where they are by not caring about " the odd 5-10 million here or there". and secondly the amount we can spend under ffp regulations are a direct correlation to how much income we can generate..

I merely pointed out that fans will be more angry regarding the fee we receive than actually losing Mahrez.

Yes... and the income we generate from every other stream far outweighs that generated by fees. We’d have to sell Mahrez for £40 million five times over to get anywhere near Premier League and champions league TV and Prize money from last season....
Ric Flair Posted 4 July 2017 Posted 4 July 2017 Why do people think we'll get shafted over the fee? Give me an example of when we've sold a wanted player for less than their market worth? People are getting confused with the fairly low release clauses of Vardy and Kante mixed up with the actual hardball nature of our club. We refused to sell Schlupp and Ulloa for ages. It took £13 million to get Jeffrey and we flatly refused to sel Ulloa who was making all sorts of threats. I think some of what we do at our club is the pits, but it's laughable the hysteria coming from some whiffy tweet about £28 million. No way will it only be that unless we get some players in return. The only way it's £28 million is as an up front payment with numerous installments and then future add ons. We won't sell for less than £35 million. I'd expect it to be £40-45 million to be honest.
