Half what exactly? How much do you think Riyad will go for?

Not the 80m Monaco have said Lemar is worth minimum.

we could put him on ebay - i understand that  the starting bit has to be low enough to gather a crowd

Atleast  £50m though especially if Sissoko goes for £30m, Silva for  £43m, Bolasie at £30m?

I don't know, it's a tricky one. Doesn't matter anyway, he'll be gone.

I cant see any pl team stumping up for him.... i can see a team in europe matching his wages.   I think we will have this tricky situation.

I have said before he needs to work on his decisionmaking ...mixibg it up and his back tracking.   He neds a psychologi§t as he will be very disappointed.

Tough love is to bench him and see if he will fight for his place.  Starting him like last season did not improve his game

I'd be very disappointed if we got less than £40m.

I saw a quote around 35M, but that was around the time Mahrez made a statement saying he wants to leave. The fact that we've had zero interest since then and time is ticking, I think 30M will do it. Also when the Mahrez statement came out, I read that the club weren't going to get a replacement because Gray was going to be given a more prominent role. All in all I think the club have moved on and see a future without Mahrez and therefore the fee is going to be substantially lower then the 40-50M that some think. The most hilarious thing would be if Mahrez does a Vardy and rejects Arsenal, especially as they don't seem to rate him as 1st choice, more a squad filler.

Irrespective of whether the club has moved on and is planning for a post-Mahrez future, £35m would be a steal for the PFA player of the year of 2015/16. £30m would be daylight robbery. If Arsenal fail to get Lemar and focus on Mahrez instead, we need to show our teeth a demand a decent fee. Test how much they want him. He's got three years left on his contract. We don't have to just roll over and accept whatever fee they deem acceptable.

I might get slated for this because it seems as if the fella has a dedicated defence force as of late but maybe the reason is actually Rudkin.

The insiders of the footballing world will know a lot more than we do. We know the bloke appears to be a bit of a crap negotiator but we don't know the full extent of that whereas other people might know. Maybe the reasoning is if clubs feign disinterest until the last minute then we'll be under so much pressure Rudders will crack and we'll sell Mahrez for 25 million + silly performance related addons that will never be hit.

I'd like to think there is just a genuine disinterest in Mahrez so he stays but who knows.

I certainly suspect there's a lot less interest than Mahrez and his agent anticipated when they issued that stupid statement.

But Lemar isn't fussed about leaving the French champions and CL semi finalists where he has to pay eff all taxes.

Especially when the alternative to staying is Arsenal at their lowest ever ebb, in the Europa League.

It makes it much easier for Monaco to play hard ball.

Riyad wants to go, we've indicated to him he'd be allowed to leave, he's told the world he wants out.

We either play hardball and risk him running his contract out or sulking around the club or we sell for whatever we can get which will be about 30-35.

I really, desperately want him to go for some 60m record that gives Wenger a stroke and we reinvests in a bunch of wonderkids.

But I'm not optimistic.

Word is that lemar wants to go to Arsenal

they wouldnt bother to pursue further if he wasn't and Monaco wouldn't have slapped a 80m prices tag on him as no point if the player doesn't want to go there.

The old sports psychologist did a really good interview when he got booted out by our good mate Claudio, where he identified what he called "terrorists" in the dressing room. He mentioned that these people were one of two types, either people getting frustrated at a lack of game time or people actively looking to force a move as they think they're better than where they are. He went into quite some depth about how they disrupted other around them, generally sapping the energy out of the group, it was really interesting.

Say for instance he did stay, and started against Arsenal at the expense of Gray. It would be very understandable if DG was pissed off that he's further down the queue than someone who has openly said he wants to leave because we're not matching his ambition. The Ulloa thing is a bit different as he's not first choice like Riyad.

I've read that article multiple times and I'm pretty sure he never mentioned anything about players kicking up a fuss for lack of game time or wanting to leave. The terrorists he described were those who start questioning the manager's tactics when the team is losing and then encouraged other players to do the same.

Yeah I've seen that as well Monaco don't want to face losing lemar and bakayoko in the same transfer window but will obviously make an exception if the price is right for example £80 million

If a couple of billionaires trust him to negotiate dealings, I'm sure we can

A dedicated defence force? The bloke gets slated and ridiculed on here morning, noon and night. He may well deserve it, I really don't know, but can you name me anyone at our football club who gets more abuse than Rudkin on this forum?

To be fair, wasn't Jeff pretty much ever present in an Allardyce side that then went onto avoid relegation?

Im not saying it was all about Jeff....it wasn't of course. But given the circumstances, you could argue 13 million was value.
