Taken with a pinch of salt, it's the Mirror. If he is that desperate to go why should we reduce the asking price, why doesn't he reduce his wage demands.
The_77 Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Where would Hazard fit in at Madrid? Similar to Mahrez, half the player without a Kantè. No way Hazard would have won Player of the Season in 2015 without Kanté.

FoxinNotts Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 I don't want Mahrez to go to Arsenal. I don't really have a rational reason why, just not Arsenal, please. (Or Spurs, for that matter).

filbertway Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Chelsea fans will be disappointed if they replace Hazard with Mahrez. Hazard is at least his equal technically, if not better, and also has the pace and power to deal with people trying to mark him out of the game. I'd be very happy if we could get Ake and Abraham + some cash though.

"At least his equal" Hazard's ball control and running threat is more or less in the young Messi leagues, he's significantly better than Mahrez. I'm not convinced there's really any better in the world. I think his close control is better than Neymar's and that's saying something. I love Riyad, I want him to stay, but let's not go overboard.

Haha I'm not really sure you've said anything different to me there aside from going into a little more detail about how bloody good Hazard is, but yeah. Mahrez will be a significant downgrade on him. Tbh, I'd rather have Willian than Mahrez as well. Not sure how Pedro gets starts ahead of him, must be attitude off the pitch.

Wortho Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Mahrez wouldn't want to go to Arsenal. They are not in the Champions League!!
ALC Fox Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 The Express saying Barca are in for him. Not sure how true that is especially if we're holding out for £50m as they've also reported. Please go to Barca though Riyad. Follow in our Gary's footsteps.

Are we saying Hazard will never be able to play well again after that? I remember Morgan making Aguero look like a little bitch last season, he's still doing alright after that though.

I think the bigger clubs get away with paying less in these scenarios because the player will want to go that bit more. Plus Barca are not a direct rival. I think the clubs in our own division have that 'rivals' premium added because they can take points off us during the season.

Well loads of spud fans have Tweeted how they don't want Spuds to sign Mahrez some mentioning how he never turned up for the 1-6 loss some say he's lazy and moody and sulks if things don't go his way !!

st albans fox Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 The comments that he has missed the boat and should have left last summer will not help the situation. He wanted to leave last summer and we wouldn't allow it. Will make him even more determined to leave this summer. Perhaps he will have to take a hit on his transfer package to get his move away??

If he really wanted to leave, nobody could make him sign a new 4 year deal. Not agreeing a new deal would have forced our hand last summer and he probably would have had to be moved on. Signing a new deal wasn't a good idea if he really wanted to leave.
Bayfox Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Barca need a rb and a cb and potentially a replacement for iniesta. Add in financial issues. They aren't gonna be spending 35 million plus on a bench warmer. Only way mahrez gets a move to barca is if they have to sell neymar.
AyewJoking Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 if you believe the sun, ozil is staying at arsenal. would this make them less likely to buy mahrez?
AmarteyAndChill Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 1 minute ago, Royston. said: if you believe the sun, ozil is staying at arsenal. would this make them less likely to buy mahrez? It should do as Mahrez and Ozil in the same side is suicide. But wouldn't suprise me if Arsenal bid for him. What makes it worse is Arsenal will bid about £23m for him & Mahrez will then kick up a fuss and demand to leave.
weller54 Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 He won't join a French club unless he's prepared to take a massive cut in wages ... Which I bet he won't!
