FoxesDeb Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Have you not been following the plane tracking thread? I thought we kept trying to drop him off in Darlington
dylanlegend Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 In this day and age does the fee really matter that much? I reckon it will be about 35million which is the lower part of what we are hoping for but for all the Xhaka and Sissokos that sell for 30m you also get the Sanchez and Hazard for 30m so it's not all bad. i also don't think staying here next year is in anyone's best interests. He wants to leave so if he doesn't get his wish this season his mind will be even more un-focused. It's a shame but let's not kid ourselves Arsenal are more likely to be challenging for honours next season and I would wish him all the best, he's achieved a massive amount with us and we should be thankful he was an LCFC player

tom27111 Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 I reckon this will run until deadline day. Whilst he may be seen a desruptive influence on the squad, it should get us more money for him. Arsenal and other teams that'll be looking at him have probably got bigger targets. If/when Mbappe and Lemar move, it could start a snowball effect. The same if Cuadrado leaves Juventus.

dpjfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 i think the hold-up is us signing his replacement (Defrel), i expect both deals to be sorted soon
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Defrel to replace Mahrez ?? One day I was drinking Chateau Lafite ... the next day I was drinking Newkie Brown

But watch games like the end of the season vs. Bournemouth and see how he often he drew fouls in advanced positions where he had no support. Lay it off quickly so we can exploit the space elsewhere. It's not rocket science! But it remained beyond Riyad all season, love him as I do. Were he to stay I'm sure he'd learn how to deal with this, with some tough love from Mr Appleton...
Stevosevic Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 No mention of a deal being close in this article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/07/02/alexandre-lacazette-travels-london-complete-52m-arsenal-move/

smudger63 Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 No i don`t, but i don`t think Arsenal will be winning the league anytime soon either, and will most likely have a fight on to even finish top 4. Mahrez wants to leave supposedly to play in the Champions league every year. Well there is certainly no guarantees of that with Arsenal at this current time.

They just went 20 seasons straight playing in it so you would tend to expect them to make it. Nothing is guaranteed any more though.
Fox 4 Life Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Perfect club for him. Primadonnas who think they're better than they are!

Fennec-Fox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Love the hate here.... just like when Kante left ... Makes u look very bad sorry to say ... Makes u look like a little kid crying over a cookie. Why not be classy and positive and wish good for everyone? ... Too bad. We have a saying that goes something like this: when the wolf can't reach for the grapes , they say it's lame and ain't sweet. Must thank the real gentlemen fans in here though.

A player of Mahrez quality should be playing champions league football & challanging for leagues.

That statement about wanting CL football has made look a little bit silly now. Why didn't he just keep his mouth shut until a deal was agreed?
