The_77 Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Says you. He was wildly inconsistent & never learned what to do when faced with 2/3 defenders. But he still gave me more pleasure than any other player last season. I know he won't but I'd love it if he stayed, and had some help (a) on the coaching side and (b) with his ego. There ain't a whole lot you can do with 3 defenders on your ass.But watch games like the end of the season vs. Bournemouth and see how he often he drew fouls in advanced positions where he had no support.

Can't help but be a bit annoyed at him saying he wants Champions League and signing for Arsenal though. Nowhere near as gutted as when Kante left though. Agreed, would tell anyone I worked with in Manchester that Kante was the most important player in our first team that season. Will still be sad to see Mahrez go but I'm looking forward (hopefully!) to seeing how Gray and Lawrence step up
crisp packet Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Sad day IF true... The Greatest player, I saw wear our blue shirt .

Tuna Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Best he goes now, the squad are probably quite upset at him, he's had a poor season and coasted through games at times and within a week of the season ending says he wants to leave. I'd be pissed off if I were Wes or Simpson. I don't want a negative influence infecting the squad as it would be the worst possible preparation. Most naturally gifted player ever to play for us, thanks for the good times Riyad.

Callabinho Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Stop losing your shit, it's football....Lineker left, Muzz left and Lennon to name a few.....Riyad wants to move on, he wasn't born a Leicester player....it's a real shame to see him go but, it's life, we looks elsewhere and we move on. Mahrez is the most gifted player ever to play for this club, and last season contributed to one of the most historical moment in modern football....I'll applaud him out the door, and give him a standing ovation every time he comes back. He is a legend.

Jobyfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 He may well ultimately go to Arsenal, but I think it's far from a done deal yet. http://goonertalk.com/2017/07/02/french-journalist-rubbishes-rumours-that-arsenal-have-signed-star-attacker/ Truth is I don't believe much has changed. I don't think he's Arsenal's first choice, but they'll come in for him if other bids come to nothing.

FoxesDeb Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 He disappointed me last season, but so did many things LCFC related. I will miss the heart stopping, edge of my seat, will he produce a moment of magic though. I love him, and I'm sad he's going even though I realise it's probably for the best. Onwards and upwards though eh
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Plan E for me ... so be surprised if he goes next week. Plan A ... keep hold of Sanchez ... unlikely. Plan B ... sign Mbappe ... highly unlikely Plan C .. sign Lemar ... unlikely Plan D .. sign Lacazette ... probable Plan E ... sign Mahrez

Jobyfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 I actually think his "statement" was an attack of hubris. He probably expected loads of bids to be forthcoming. I think they ultimately will - and he will ultimately go - but this might serve as notice that he's got some work to do before he's where he thinks he is. He's the relatively expensive gamble for big clubs, due to his inconsistency over the last two season and the one that they will return to once less risky options have been exhausted.
