How do people consider this explanation to be even remotely possible is beyond me. Until proven wrong with legit sources, I call out BS.

Can just see the papers tommorow "Riyad attacks fellow Leicester player in a training ground bust up". Supers clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham have been alerted. Mahrez is valued at £15m.

And IMO we can get into Europe next season.

IMO Mahrez has made his mind ( with the help of his agent ) to leave , and the medias are making way to his exist and i do beleuve that they made their mission to get mahrez out of leicester and play for another club next season, this is why we are having every day a story

Foxxed Posted 11 May 2017 Posted 11 May 2017 We'll need to saint him, you know, if he stays with us after his balloon d'or nomination and after we fail to qualify for europa. All in his prime footballing years too, although I guess leaving at 27 wouldn't be horrific.

marbles Posted 12 May 2017 Posted 12 May 2017 Everyone is wanting the Mahrez of last season. The Mahrez of this season has has not been consistent, and downright bad in some games.
Izzy Posted 12 May 2017 Posted 12 May 2017 I always said I wanted to hear from Mahrez himself before making my own mind up if he really wants to leave or not. Having just read this, I now think he'll be off. Gutted. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/10874529/leicesters-riyad-mahrez-to-consider-future-in-summer Edit: Looks like this is in the 'mass exodus' thread and also the transfer forum - sorry

But you never know: most would have thought he'd leave after last season but he didn't and he does seem to be happy here. If he leaves we have Albrighton, Lawrence, Musa and Gray. And that's if Gray stays too and Lawrence doesn't go on loan again and is premier league quality. I'm hoping Musa can turn the corner even more now tbh.

But the fact he says "we'll see" about five times doesn't fill me with much confidence. I suppose it was too much to expect him to say "I'm really happy here and have no intention of leaving. I'll definitely be seeing out my contract thank you".
Foxxed Posted 12 May 2017 Posted 12 May 2017 And Christ everytime I read Mahrez's words he just seems like a top, top bloke.

I would say it's open to who puts a bid in, if Chelsea put a bid in he would be off, I don't think there are many others clubs that could tempt him Barca maybe, playing in the CL is great, but if your in a team that goes out in the group stage or round 16 like Spurs/Arsenal you may as well wait another year for a proper team, that will do well in CL.

The way I read it, he wants to leave to play CL, but the 'we'll see' is whether any CL clubs will meet his valuation and whether the club will allow him to leave. I don't doubt that there was a gentleman's agreement in place, and I don't think we should be holding him against his will any more.
fazzyfox Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 What we don't need is for it to go to deadline day, 14:00 "Leicester have rejected a bid of 38 million.." 18:00 "Leicester have rejected a revised bid of 42 million, 22:00 "Leicester are considering a bid of 46.5 million" 23:00 "Leicester have accepted a bid of 49.6 million and the season long loan of Chelsea youngster Slobodan Nevererdovim". And the window is cer-losed! Back to the original question, unless the strop at being subbed at WBA was a stunt he has my full ongoing support and I'd be happy to elevate it and personalise it if there was a chance that it would make a difference. Will I and will he be clapping any differently than normal as he leaves the pitch v Bournemouth? It's hard to say as officially neither of us will "know" that it's more about todays match and the ending season. And whilst we consider singling him out what does that say to the ones for who there have been no rumours of looking elsewhere? It's the kids who I feel sorry for (gets out violin) the ones who get his name printed on their shirt next week. For what he has cost in transfer and salaries he has more than repaid, I had hoped that Slimani was a factor in him staying but maybe his future will dictate Mahrez's. Revised plan - plenty of "please stay Slimani" songs!

But he is better than Gray. He is better than Lawrence. He is better than Musa. Until you can prove conclusively over a long period that our premier league-winning 19 goals-a-season ballon d'or nominee winger is our third choice then I reckon we want him to stay. I'd like to try out Gray some more but the idea he is currently better or will be better than Mahrez is wishful thinking.
FuchingKante Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Conveniently started putting in effort towards the end of the season, he can leave imo. We Should be starting albrighton and gray anyway.
waylander Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Don't know what you have till it's gone . Think if he stays will be a lot smarter next season hopefully with extra help. ?
gurru991 Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 i'm good to see him go. he just doesn't bring it this year

So i think when he says he just focusing on finishing out this season, and then maybe in the summer consider things, i don't think he's being coy or playing politics. As it stands, the temptations he had last summer will still be there, but then again whatever it was that convinced him to stay might also win out again. ...unless he reads some of the vitriol on FT
