bpfox Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 i think this is dead in the water, has gone to long. hope we have a second option.

No one panic, Rudders is on the case........we're screwed!! I honestly thought with how smooth the Maguire transfer went through we had turned over a new leaf.

We've got to decide what we want and have the confidence to believe in the policy rather than being pressured by the actions of others. There are exceptions to every rule and Iheanacho might just be one of them. You can't make big wedges on everyone but sometimes quality can bring the best out of less than exceptional players. The other factor is whether there are comparable alternatives who'll have the same effect but fit into our modus operandi more readily. If not, there's no point spoiling the puzzle through the loss of one piece. Stick to the plan.... **** the plan! Which is it?

I'd entirely understand us walking away from this deal, but if the bloke is the goal machine he's made out to be, then perhaps he's worth making an exception for.
SheppyFox Posted 27 June 2017 Author Posted 27 June 2017 Bored of crap rumours now, want new players.
dpjfox Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 I against being used as a "feeder club". However if we sign him and he does well his goals will guarantee safety each season then we sell back at a profit. Imo this transfer is still alive but likeley very complicated (Rudders cant get basic transfers over the line quickly)

JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Reading today about Ousman Dembele signing for Man City. They sell a 20 year old forward for another 20 year old foward maybe???

lgfualol Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Would be nice to sign him or ANYONE before our first pre-season game vs West Brom.

They just know that half the premiership is interested so they can afford to hard ball us over the terms. Eventually, one of us, West Ham, Everton, Southampton, Spurs, etc is going to agree to the buy back clause and snap him up because he's clearly a talent.

Kante took weeks, not easy when more than one club wants the player. In this case it seems Leicester, West Ham, Crystal Palace and a European club (no doubt offering CL) all want him. Why should Man City rush the deal, unless Rudkin is willing to go above the asking price (£30-£35m -which I'd probably recommend, as Iheanacho is very suited to fast counters and has a shot accuracy light years ahead of Okazaki).

Rusko187 Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 So what is latest on this then? Thought this was a done deal.

Babylon Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 We got N'didi done early and Maguire, perhaps people need to start accepting that it can take time to get things done sometimes. If we can get it done quick we've shown we're capable.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Gets linked with Palace & everyone claims this deal is dead.... what's wrong with this forum. We are still favourites to sign him & have more to offer with regards to team mates, wages etc than any other club linked. just wait.... Man City won't let go off him until they get there replacement first, it's a domino effect.
Livid Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 I don't know maybe it's because I don't pay much attention to the way other clubs conduct business but other than Pogba going to Man Utd last summer, it just feels everyone else pretty has this wants player, gets linked with player, makes right offer, player signs. A lot of what we do just feels drawn out and painful.
