Under 20 WC Final

Recommended Posts

Hope these crop of youngsters can do it in the senior game, where there's very strong expectations set and disappointment that has often come too quickly for the any previous ones to now.

Much preferred this game (and teams) compared to yesterday's despite the frantic finish. more energy and determination.

They're discussing how 5 of our players could still opt to play for Nigeria who "might" get to the AFCON's. Might? Might? They always do don't they?

Umm... except for the last time when they failed to qualify... (2015)

Think Maitland-Niles, Onomah and Ojo will go on to be full England internationals.

Ojo won't. We had him on loan at Wolves and he was all pace and very little skill. He could improve undoubtedly, but not to full international level IMO.

Yeah he was 18 when you had him. He looks a bloody dangerous player though. IF he can get that end product (and it is a big if) then I think he could go far.

Lewis Cook is the one though. Totally forgot to list him a minute ago. He'll be a superb player.

These players need the opportunities now with their clubs. Too many talented players either stagnate or get given too much too quickly. Hopefully the under 21s can do something now, winning mentality throughout the young ages can never be a bad thing.

Not so sure about Ojo. Solanke had an off game today but has had a decent tourney, be interesting to see how he gets on at a club that aren't averse to giving youngsters a sustained run.

Cook, Lookman and Calvert-Lewin will play for the seniors at some point.

All power and no brains if you ask me, how many times we'd put muscle them and pass the ball straight back was embarrassing.

I wouldn't put money on many of them starting regularly for a top 6 team.

Managers like Koeman and Pochettino are letting these lads develop. Need more of it.

Full credit to Koeman for letting Lookman and Calvert-Lewin miss 3 PL games to be part.

Agreed! Koeman and Pochettino are developing some top young 'homegrown' players at their teams. Respect them a lot for doing that.
