I watch a fair amount of French football on TV..(my chosen '2nd league' if you like).

Boudebouz is a very talented player in Ligue 1, immensely skilful...possibly even more influential than RM on a good day!

There's a big BUT though.....When he has a 'quiet' game he's virtually invisible....seems very much a confidence player!

If he starts well, he can absolutely 'run' a game. On the flip side though, if things aren't going his way 'early doors', he has a habit of retreating into his shell and closing the shutters!

Could be an explanation as to why the bids aren't flooding in !

So basically identical to Mahrez in every way, gotcha.

It must be part of their culture. He'd probably get bullied in this league. But I do like him. He is very talented and exactly the type we need. for the price, he's surely worth a risk.

Going Betis for £7.6 million, what on earth? I'm sure the likes of Babylon who reasons with everything will say perhaps he's just not good enough but for that price in a position we badly need competition in, it's galling we haven't gone all out for him. His set pieces alone are worth a punt, we're dog shit at them and I'm sick of it.

Betis have bid the equivalent of £6,000,000 which is expected to be rejected. They are holding out for £11,000,000.

Swansea are interested and favourites to sign him, when Sigurdsson moves to Everton.

Newcastle have shown interest and West Ham in the past few days, however I can’t see us dipping out toe in the water here unless we expect someone to move on.

If we have Mahrez, Lawrence, Gray, Albrighton and Musa, do we need anyone else?

I don't trust any of those names to consistently provide assists anymore.

There is clearly something wrong with the guy. At these prices, there is a reason he isn't being snapped up. Attitude, maybe some quiet borderline criminal thing,  his numbers make him an obvious target for a number of teams in the Prem (and elsewhere). The fact that absolutely everyone in our league and others has passed is pretty damning. More than meets the eye here.
