Assuming Iheanacho signs for the club, do you think a partnership with Vardy would work. The Musa/Vardy partnership didnt work out and Iheanacho has pace like Musa. However Iheanacho is more clinical in front of goal. Opinions please!

Iheanacho is willing to drop deeper for the ball. Musa and Vardy didn't work because both players play on the shoulder of the last man.

It has been reported his favourite position is a 10

Behind the striker, if that's the case it keeps Vardy happy

So hopefully he'll come and play there and it'll be yes

Iheanacho is a younger, quicker version of Okazaki. More prolific as well and will probably finish off more chances than Okazaki has had.

Iheanacho's ability to stay on his feet is much better as well :D

Must say I'm not convinced about this number 10 stuff. Really rate the lad but he looks like an out and out striker to me. Not sure the 2 will perfectly suit each other but Vardy could work the channels more, or ideally, I could just be wrong.

I imagine Iheanacho is a much better footballer than Musa.

I always thought Iheanacho was a proper striker but people talking about him playing wide on here :S

I've no real opinion on Iheanacho as I've always thought of him as an out and out No9 and never really tried to analyse him on MOTD, etc.

The fact that he thinks of himself as a No10 and the pedigree he has makes me salivate though.

I would have thought he was way out of our league before the summer, it has all the hallmarks of being a brilliant buy for us when you consider he wants to play in a position that has been weak for us and he has genuine world class potential.

You can partner Vardy with Suarez for all that it matters at the moment,  The problem is the service doesn't look like its going to be there at this moment in time.  Until that issue is sorted doesn't matter who we have up top.

Classic move last year was someone sending Vardy down the left hand channel, he'd do the full back and put a ball across the box that nobody would get near. Okazaki was always frustratingly late.

Iheanacho's main MO is actually a little like Slimani. He likes the ball to feet deeper in the half, likes to knock it wide to a team mate and then get himself in the area for the return ball.

The difference is that Iheanacho wants a cut back to his feet which he tends to look to finish with an early low strike before the keeper is set in a manner similar to Harry Kane.

I can see that working well. Iheanacho, Drinkwater or James sends Vardy who cuts it back for Iheanacho to finish. I'd have more confidence in him getting there to wrap it up than Shinji.

I don't think there's enough evidence to really know how the two might work as a partnership. Equally, we may need to go one up front if we continue to look week in the midfield area.

Shame they haven't had longer to work on that part of their play in pre-season.
