Babylon Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 He's in the all training pics from this morning, so nothing would be immediate anyway.

No we won't, we got battered by Chelsea, United, Liverpool enough last year with Drinkwater to know games against the big boys mean nothing in terms of judging people. The time for seeing what he's worth is over a period of time when we've played a mixture of teams up and down the league.

I'm not crazy enough to pass judgement on him after the game against ManU but I still want to see him how he will fare. Even if we lose, even if we take a beating (which I'm expecting).

DD's agent says he's going and thats it !! ... DD says he wants to play for a BIG club ..... DD refuses to train, says he has a sniffly cold and stays in and plays on his gameboy all day. A MOTD commentator commented "DD is too fookin good for Leicester City and needs to move on ... Leicester City should know their place as a feeder team for the big boys". And finally, ... a Leicester fan and regular forum user has been quoted as saying .. "He iz gud play and magical star of tim.. Lesta supports dont desserv im and will cry wen gon" .... If Drinkwater ends up doing those things then he will end up like Berahino ie signing for a sh!t club after playing for our reserves for two years, it's his own career he will be screwing up. Not that I think he will, he doesn't come across as the type.

What was the injury that made him play so bad for the next 6 months? What's the other injury that made him equally bad in the pre-season? You would like me to google it for you, bless. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/806924/Leicester-Danny-Drinkwater-England-World-Cup-qualifier-Scotland-Craig-Shakespeare 'The 27-year-old has so far withdrawn from each of Gareth Southgate’s squads as manager with a hip flexor injury that has been managed during the season by Leicester’s medical staff'

We were updated for any other injured player with a precise input. I knew about every injury of team member one way or another and honestly can't remember anything about DD other than his bruised ribs at the end the of last year. At some point , the sentence "he's probably carrying a knock" plopped on this forum and was echoed since then, but there was no official comment about this injury as far as I can remember. He was indeed injured at the end of the last season and Shakey took him then out with an official statement about the nature of the injury. And it still does not explain to me why he wasn't great in the pre-season, playing exactly like from nov 2016 to may 2017. He was supposed to be fit again, wasn't he? Or he was playing again with a knock that made him constantly pass backwards? The thing is... they kept it quiet for most of the season because we had no reliable alternative. Tbf, I think this is why at least half of the posters on this thread seem to think it is just a rumour/myth. It is hard to read one of our Immortals getting falsely maligned, time and time again. He did his best whilst carrying a knock for the greater good, losing chances to cement his England role, and we really should be grateful that he did.
the fox Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 I mean, would it really hurt him to line up just a 10-15 yards higher on the pitch (a LA Henderson)? He isn't slow nor a bad passer, that will take his game to the next level! That will fix the midfield problem while keeping a potential future captain! Hopefully he adds that to his arsenal.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 Just to be clear for everyone who doesn't know... He had a fookin hip flexor injury for most of the season, but the club kept it quiet because of our limited options so stop banging on about how he was rubbish last season, show some respect and for christ's sake.. try and keep up!

Calm down. Our Owners are not after profit, well not based upon the previous 6 years.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 The sooner this transfer window closes and hopefully the new rules are agreed the better .... the whole thing is a complete and utter farce. How the management teams of premier clubs are meant to concentrate on their jobs with all this nonsense going on is beyond ridiculous.
HighPeakFox Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 Having a troublesome hip flexor myself, it is very annoying, comes and goes, and can be very restrictive and painful at times.

Absolutely one of the most painful strains as a footballer because of the lateral movement and also needs very careful management as the surgery to permanently fix is major. Hence his restrictive movement last season and why he only played until April.

This. Plus, how many people are forgetting that in the first few months of the season he was one of our better players alongside Albrighton and Schmeichel. Clearly the injury took its toll, and he was eclipsed by Ndidi's performances after the new year.

Babylon Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 Anything that's over £35m guaranteed has to be considered, providing we can get a replacement who we actually want.

sdb Posted 25 August 2017 Posted 25 August 2017 Guardian saying it's likely to happen next week as the clubs look to reach a compromise. It's in an article about Barkley and Ox.
