Still baffles me Chelshits decision to sell Matic! And to a rival!

Do one Chelsea try giving your youth a chance for once!

I think it still baffles Conte. It was clearly done against his wishes. So weird.

Is selling King possible or is it a taboo subject on here? We got far too many CMs. Amartey is versatile hence more useful than King. All the others are better than King, bar Mendy who's still an unknown quantity.

I'm sure we could get £15-20m for him from a Bournemouth or Brighton or Newcastle. A PL winner with experience at this level.

I'd keep Drinkwater but ship out a few players who are not good enough and are just taking up a squad place. Ulloa, King, Benny etc and sign the much needed CB and RB.

Players like King are important the dressing room, I think that's why he's been kept.

Sorry, I'm no doc and prefer to rely on a medical report coming from the club.

We were updated for any other injured player with a precise input. I knew about every injury of team member one way or another and honestly can't remember anything about DD other than his bruised ribs at the end the of last year.

At some point , the sentence "he's probably carrying a knock" plopped on this forum and was echoed since then, but there was no official comment about this injury as far as I can remember.

He was indeed injured at the end of the last season and Shakey took him then out with an official statement about the nature of the injury.

And it still does not explain to me why he wasn't great in the pre-season, playing exactly like from nov 2016 to may 2017. He was supposed to be fit again, wasn't he? Or he was playing again with a knock that made him constantly pass backwards?

Here you go have a read! They had been nursing the injury throughout the season!

He'll go to Chelsea, start about 7 games and be on loan at Stoke within a year.

This is what I'm thinking.  It's a stepping stone to failure.

Drinkwater would be a good buy for the majority of PL teams, but I don't see him fitting in at Chelsea & I can't really see the Chelsea fans taking to him, unless he plays an absolute blinder.  Conte may not last until the end of the season & will the next manager want him?

Like you say, he'll play a few times & within 12 months Stoke/West Brom/West Ham will pick him up for a fraction of what Chelsea paid

King is invaluable for us off the pitch. Bloke sets the standard. Not the most talented but a brilliant attitude that rubs off on others.

If DD goes then are we going to panic buy to get someone in to replace him. Yes would be my answer

Hopefully will never know as the owners will tell Chelski to fook off and that will be the end of it .....   only way to stop this bolox now.   Not as if he's going to be a star there ..  they only want him to warm the bench and get their English quota up ...   fookin cheek.

Was Drinkys injury last season stopping him from passing the ball forwards, did it cause him to drop 3 metres from Wes to collect the ball and knock it between Huth and Wes before one of them booted it back to the other teams defence? He was frustrating so many times last season yet a pleasure to watch when he played positively.

We have Maguire now who is filling the role of two players, strong CB and someone who will bring the ball out, allowing the midfield and wingers to get forward and attack. James is always looking to go forward with the ball or drop back when Maguire makes a move

If if he goes and we get 35m+ then great, thanks for your service and good luck, if he stays then hopefully he can make a positive contribution to the team again, we all he has it in him.

It's about time clubs tell the player at the point of signing a contract that the deal is XX years on XX pounds a year, if you don't agree to it don't sign the contract and we can make our plans around someone else. now get your head down and stop dreaming of a move to somewhere else.

I do agree with you in many ways but you have to not get yourself a reputation of refusing to sell players who want to leave as that could stop some people from wanting to join us...

That works both ways - many people want Musa moved on but the club signed up to a four year deal...

Bang on. It's about time a club made a stand and said you're under contract and going nowhere. Enjoy the next 3 years of your short career playing with the u23's. There's enough money in the game now to be shifting the player power.

Chelsea have 67 senior professionals

It says a lot for the Chelsea's methods of developing talent through collecting players & loaning them all over Europe to see what sticks, that can't replace Matic from within

It's not refusing to sell them, it's forcing them to see out their contract. If they don't want the 3 year deal, take a one year deal. The other thing is there's not exactly 100's of players queuing up to join us is there, even a player like ben fvckin gibson can afford to turn us down and would rather stay with middlesborough in the championship than come to us. Most of the current squad are rejects from other clubs and would have been grateful for the opportunity to play for us instead of rotting on the bench or playing for some club where they have no chance of any recognition. Look at the players we have, who else was desperate to sign vardy, mahrez, drinkwater schmiechal etc, even kante wasn't exactly the most sought after player in europe, and it wasn't until we came up with a system and took these players to play in that system that turned them into worldwide stars.

Yes, but the club probably don't won't him moved on, it's only us fans. The club can always use a player, league cups, fa cups, training ground. Don't forget to be able to train, you need 2 complete sides to play against each other, with quality on both sides in order to push the players.

No club will pay 20 million for someone who will only accept a 1 year contract.... You're only looking at the contract from the players point of view and thats not how it works... the contract isn't just for the players benefit its for the clubs too. If someone has a 5 year contract then it significantly increase the clubs chance of getting a payment fee for  a possible transfer in the future.  Clubs are not stupid... they know a percentage of players will want to move on after  2/3 years... Giving them a 5 year deal is how they get their money back... and more!

But the clubare his boss. What they say goes. If you don't do your job properly then we have a right to get rid.

If you do your job properly then we have the right to keep you for as long as your contract states. We're only holding up our end of the bargain by paying these players until their contract ends or someone else signs them. They need to hold up their's by playing to the best of their ability and showing the right attitude until their contract runs out or we're willing to sell them.

Have we missed DD in the last 3 games? He was missing for the last 30 games of last season. I'd grab the money and wave bye bye.

James didn't really impose himself against Brighton so in that game I'd say yes. The other 2 were against Brighton and a Championship team so making a judgement on those games, as I'm sure you'd agree,  would be insane.

We'll see Saturday what James is really worth. I like him but he still has a lot to prove.
