Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Maguire Fuchs

Mahrez Drinkwater Ndidi Albrighton

Vardy Slimani

No real surprises in the starting 11

A few subs at half time, but keeping the same shape, something along the lines of:

Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Maguire Chilwell

Lawrence Drinkwater Ndidi Gray

Vardy Iheanacho

With a few more changes with 20 minutes left. James, Iborra etc.

Probably already been mentioned but will Iheanacho be considered for tonight so we think?

Think they said in the article on the official site that he was available. Probably come off the bench.

I don't see why not. He's had pre-season training but no matches, so it would be odd not to give him at least 45 minutes.

Yeah definitely. Can we all agree now not to write him off if he doesn't do well tonight. Please! lol

We will play well and win tonight we are at home ive noticed alot last season we are becoming very very poor away from home then at home look a different team

Is Slimani going to be available/fully fit?  That was a pretty nasty cut he received last week and last I heard he needed stitches, is this correct?

Not really an injury that would hamper him as such but will still need time to fully heal

Jim said on twitter he wasn't signed in time to play tonight.

have no idea why you have to be signed in time for a friendly

I don't know why either?  How can you have "A. Trialist" then?

Hopefully an increase in intensity tonight from the boys. Gutted that Iheanacho won't feature but will be a good chance for Slim and Vardy to work on their partnership further.

Will be interested to see what the midfield looks like tonight as it should be a decent indicator of how we'll set up at the Emirates next week

Thats a very good point - surely he is available for a friendly?

He's available to play, there's no reason why he wouldn't be

You don't even need to be signed by the club to play in a friendly, they could play 11 blokes they've picked up outside the ground if they wanted to

Should have done that at Burton we might have won then

*over-excited long post klaxon*  :vardy:

I'd like to see Gray get a start, and James because he's looked sharper than Drinkwater so far.

I'm getting a bit carried away, but I like the idea of Vardy occupying the centre-backs and making them sit deep, allowing Iheanacho some space to get involved in the build up, play it out wide, and then arrive late into the box unmarked to poach on a low cross or rebounds, assuming Vardy's not already bagged of course..

Probably a bit too attacking, but stuff it, attack is the best form of defence after all... kinda. It'd be fun to watch in any case:

                     Kasper

Simpson Morgan Maguire Fuchs

                Ndidi  James

Mahrez      Iheanacho    Gray

                       Vardy

However, I think it's maybe more likely that this will be closer to the team to face Arsenal, so I reckon we could start against Gladbach with:

                       Kasper

Simpson  Morgan Maguire Fuchs

Mahrez    Ndidi    Drinkwater  Albrighton

                Iheanacho

                            Vardy

Then start the second half with:

(Starting with Albrighton would allow us to practise what I'm presuming is our plan B with no subs)

                        Kasper

         Simpson Morgan Maguire

Albrighton                               Fuchs

                   Ndidi  Drinkwater

                           Mahrez

                  Iheanacho Vardy

Then, after the 60/65 min mark, maybe gradually change to something more experimental (risky) like one of these:

Although probably any combination of players in their positions, to be honest. I'm finding it difficult to decide who it would be most beneficial to see get some minutes.

Gives Nacho and Slim game time together and Gray more freedom to 'express' himself.

                         Kasper

          Amartey Morgan Maguire

Albrighton                              Chilwell

                    James  Iborra

                            Gray

                  Slimani   Iheanacho

Gives Musa another chance in his best(?) position and another chance for Amartey in a central role.

                        Kasper

Simpson Morgan Maguire Chilwell

                        Amartey

                    James  Iborra

Gray                                             Musa

                          Slimani

Youthful and energetic attacking midfield. Chilwell and Gray seem to combine well (in attack...).

                       Kasper

Simpson Morgan Maguire Chilwell

                   James  Iborra

Lawrence       Barnes          Gray

                        Slimani

Saying that, we're probably more likely to see King, Ulloa, and Okazaki. As much as I love em, we know very well what they offer. And maybe Shakey will want to give more of the starters 90 minutes before the season begins. We'll have to see if he will chuck Kelechi straight in too.

It's a shame we haven't seen anything of Barnes so far, and very little of Ndukwu, but that's obviously because we won't be seeing too much of them in the match day squads, if no one leaves.

I'd have liked to see Johnson and Moore get another run out, and maybe Amartey at centre back, but at this point it probably makes more sense to give our first choice defence (minus Huth) as many minutes together as possible.

No Mendy in there, but I'm guessing he's still crocked or is gonna leave and that's why we haven't seen anything of him.

I hear you brother....Ill allow him 15 mins to impress me.

KI should start IMO, he's better than 90% of our team so ultimately he's taking someone's spot, balls to their feelings I want to see our new lad and I want to win ?
