And a big reason why he wasn't doing it last season was because Kante wasn't there to do it anymore. I don't need to spend an hour on the internet to make this argument my season tickets does it for me. Stupid argument. Would Vardy have scored his goals without Mahrez or Albrighton? Football is a team game. No one is saying Mahrez single handedly carried LCFC. Obviously for Mahrez to perform like that he needs a player like Kante so he can have more freedom to work his magic. Just like vardy wouldn't do jack without any distribution from the midfield

I just hope our boys come home healthy from what is essentially a dead rubber game next... I don't see how it was the fault of the coach. We barely have any friendlies for the coach to test out the squads, and the performances were abysmal from the so called "superstars". The pitch was partially to blame though. Most of our players started their careers in Europe so they cannot adapt to the conditions of African football as easily as native African teams (like zambia). Still, the performances were embarrassing to say the least. I hope we do not sack Alcaraz, since the problem is clearly greater than the coach. We have had terrible runs ever since our decent World Cup performance. I don't think Mahrez is to blame. We cannot expect one player to carry us, football is a team sport.

I said that he wouldn't have changed a thing (I'm Algerian, so if anyone can be salty about him not playing it would be me). Unless you think he played? Like I said before, I gave up on the national team, its not just players or management, it runs deeper than that. I'm glad he didn't play, at least he can be 100℅ with the club.
smr Posted 2 September 2017 Posted 2 September 2017 Just reading that he wanted to force a move to *bluergh* yanited *bluerghhhh* This BS? If it's not then that's a bit shit. Wouldn't have minded him trying to force a move to Barcelona or someone.
the fox Posted 2 September 2017 Posted 2 September 2017 From what I got on twitter (take this with a grain of salt) He was gonna sign for Chelsea but barca showed interest, he went to Barcelona, they pulled out, he returned to sign for Chelsea, and they also pulled out (don't know if I want to laugh of feel sorry for the man) His barca dreams made him look like a fool!, a bird in the hand, riyad! Again those are just rumors!

There seems to be no morals, and double standards and hypocrisy everywhere. All that people are bothered about is that Mahrez plays well so we win football matches. They aren't bothered that he doesn't even want to be here, has publically stated it and, despite his best efforts STILL can't leave. I'm not surprised that so many want to conveniently overlook this. It's 2017 and this is FT. But for me it leaves a bitter taste. Either I'm just being more honest than most? Or most genuinely don't give shite? To answer your question directly, I'd not be bothered now if Mahrez was left to rot in the reserves. I'd rather have players at the club who want to play for the club. I wonder what the likes of Big Steve Walsh will be making of these shananigans... IMO To be fair there are very very few players who are playing for Leicester because they are LCFC fans and want to be here. They want to play football and they want to earn as much money (and fame) as possible doing it. Of that team... the one that we worship, love and claim as one of our own, the one that won us the league...almost all of them, would rather have been playing somewhere else, they arent here for love of the badge. Youve got two choices, love your club and those that are a part of it... or go and find something more logical and rational to do with your saturday afternoons.

So he was going to sign for Chelsea but pulled out be because Barca might be interested, when Barca were not interested he turned to United, when United were not interested he went back to Chelsea who I assume didn't particularly want to be his third choice. Also what was he doing in Paris ? Did he tap PSG up as well ? Can't believe all that happened in one day.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 3 September 2017 Posted 3 September 2017 Jonny Evans on his potential move from the Baggies : " I had a chat with the manager before I left for international duty . We agreed that if something happens or it doesn't we'll just get on with it " No tears , no strops , no tantrums , no refusing to play for the club he is under contract with. Some of his more gifted fellow players could learn a lot from Jonny.

From a fan's perspective, I totally agree, but no doubt fellow players would say that he should have "done a Drinkwater" and forced through a move and then he wouldn't still be "slumming it a middle table club".

Ok Coutinho didn't get a move but there was big, serious interest. Payet got a move at a cut price and Sigurdsson got a move. But do you want to know why Riyad didn't 'do a Coutinho, Sigurdsson or Payet, e.t.c'? He was in no position to do so, interest was lacking anyway and given the season he had last he needed to perform well, get talked about, become relivent. Ok Drinkwater, put a transfer request in and caused abit of a fuss it seems, he didn't play well last season either, but you know what? He had interest from Chelsea, he forced a move through. Mahrez was trying force a move through when there was no move to force. I said when the original statement came from Riyad about wanting to move on that he only did it to get people talking, try and build up interest, a plea if you will to big clubs 'look at me, come and get me'. Desperation, even at that early stage.

Embarrassing, disrespectful, pathetic and foolish. But above all embarrassing. I may be the only one around here but I was disappointed he didn't get his move. We are bigger than any one player and this kind of behaviour, whoring himself out to anyone who will have him, deserves a spot of time on the bench to reflect.

Chico1958 Posted 3 September 2017 Posted 3 September 2017 Peter Odemwingie all over again don't you think. Don't get me wrong, as I've previously said I'm glad it didn't happen but boy, he could have handled it better ill advised and made to look a laughing stock. It's open wound on both sides God knows how Shakespeare is going to heal it, we've also got Gray to consider as well. 25 million offer This could get very messy when the team get back together .............. Banter could kill the Team spirit

st albans fox Posted 3 September 2017 Posted 3 September 2017 None of you have a clue what happened on Thursday - we may have been very close to a deal with united which fell through for whatever reason at their end. our business is always done on the quiet - we know from the French press earlier last week that Jose was interested
