No bids or approaches for RM since Roma bid.

Strange one isn't it

can only assume his people were given a cut off point (as was rumoured) and it's passed.

Unless we are comfortable to completely change our basic set up then I can't see the board sanctioning a late sale.

I would object to this btw - I think he prevents us from really going for it 3-5-2

We'd be absolutely bonkers to sell at this stage, finding a replacement would be nearly impossible.

I think it would have to be silly money to tempt the owners now, and nobody is going to be prepared to pay.

Looks like he is staying for now. Man united wee interested but they don't think he is worth 50 million. So they can fcuk as well.

Not particularly classing that as good news... he wouldn't need a medical (has he ever been injured?? lol) so could just sign from wherever he is.

Not necessarily. If he spits his dummy out and starts playing consistently crap like last season then hopefully Shakey does the right thing and drops him to the reserves for a few weeks, thus opening the door to a 3-5-2. If that succeeds Mahrez will be depending on Shakey changing his tactical setup to accommodate Riyad. Probably what Mahrez needs if that happens because theoretically he'll know that he must play out of his skin every week to just stay in the team.

Pretty sure they would still want to do a medical for a 50m purchase. Riyad had a muscle tape thing on his left thigh a lot of last season.

Not sure whether the medical can be done after the deadline though. I seem to remember something about only certain paperwork needing to be in before the deadline, while other minor details and registration can happen later.

Wouldn't trust this cunt after how he caused the shitstorm about Vardy almost certain to join Arsenal last summer then nothing materialised! He's a nobhead!

That said I don't think anything will happen between Mahrez/Arsenal tomorrow.

He's got a direct line to AFC as the club's mouthpiece and is regarded the most reliable ITK. Just means that Arsenal themselves were utterly convinced he was joining. Top trolling from Vards :)

You can sign a player based upon a later medical as long as the paperwork is done in time.

Just had a few quid on Mahrez to the Arsenal at 5/1.

No claims of any insider knowledge here. But based on them having just sold Oxlade and I think Man City will up their bid for Sanchez.

Probably all old pony.

Problem would be time more than anything now. To get a player from Africa to Europe, medical, signature with negotiations. Would have to be private jets ecetc

Medical not necessary as per Reynards post above

pretty sure that signature can be sorted wherever the player is (there must be solicitors in Zambia)

The different stages of a transfer :

1/ Interest

2/ Bid

3/ Bid Accepted

4/ Negotiations with the player

5/ Medical

6/ Signing

Mahrez situation isn't even at the first stage, apart from Mickey Mouse sources, no reliable journalist spoke about any interest of Arsenal/Chelsea.

I'm no expert but pretty sure 4) becomes 2).
