Mersons season predictions !!

So Paul Merson has released his end of season table on who he thinks will win the Premier League and who will be relegated, and I was one was quite surprised that he placed us in 9th position !

I honestly thought he would have placed us lower but looking through it I think we could finish as high as 5th if all goes to plan with Vardy and iheanacho linking up and if we can pick up another CB could be another great season for us so fingers crossed ? !!

I think i would be happier if he had us as relegation fodder, since his predictions are usually so way out.

Although he has Got Man City for Champions and if i was a betting person, thats the team i'd put my money on.

His predictions are usually so way out.... what predictions are perfect? lol  Atleast in his predictions he can count past 3 unlike the miserable one on the BBC, whose predictions you could actually predict yourself.

He loved us in 2014/15 bizarrely but wasn't a fan in 15/16 or last season. It's almost as if the years of alcoholism and substance abuse have affected his intelligence or something.

Most boring set of predictions I've ever seen. I'd have a bit more faith in the promoted sides and be looking at Stoke and Burnley going down because neither of them have anything resembling flair or a proper striker.

He lost me when he said Tottenham had the best team.

They're better than I like to convince myself but they're still not the best team in the league and they're also one or two injuries away from being very average.

I'm sure Merson is a decent bloke, but as a pundit he really stinks.

To be fair to him I'm sure most people would be as boring.

The big six will be the top six.

Everton 7th

Then teams that shouldn't be relegated like Leicester, Southampton, West Ham and Bournemouth.

The rest.

Most predictions will more or less follow that pattern.

I think the Spuds will suffer playing all their home games at Wembley this season !

It will be another season of trying not to get relegated I predict.

No last year was just unforgettable god knows what went on but if they really did throw games to get rid of CR then that's totally unforgivable,we could have been about top 6 last season if some didn't throw their rattles out of their pram and cause us to hover round relegation places?!

Do feel that we're a little bit under-rated imo.

If Mahrez and Drinkwater both stay, we strongly have the potential of reaching the top-six.

We know how to play against the big teams, but, like other teams, we need to be more consistent in terms of results.

It's so hard to predict before a ball has been kicked and while the window remains open. The top 7 or 8 will be insanely competitive this year though I imagine. United quietly confident of a good season and I feel like Liverpool could be very strong if they hold on to Coutinho and Sturridge actually stays fit enough to play in the majority of games (so they'll probably end up being crap). Chelsea have Kante so that's nuff said about them and Spurs, much as we all hate to admit it, have genuine 'coming of age' potential this year.

I'm not overly keen on City but they'll most likely be up there challenging, likewise Arsenal although maybe this will be the season when they finally implode once and for all. Obviously Everton have spent big but does anyone really rate them even still? Not me tbh. I think finishing above them should probably be our goal. Ambitious but doable for sure.

If only he'd paid closer attention to us last season - we were utterly dreadful from August to December, and an absolute disgrace for January and much of February; yet despite that, we would have finished 9th were it not for a linesmans wrong offside on the last day of the season. Not to mention the depleted back line being a big factor during that time as well as Champions League distractions.

I don't see us being that appalling again. We've got a much stronger squad and no distractions - I genuinely believe that we can finish in the top 6.
