Bryn Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Can't see it for Albrighton. For Maguire however seems highly plausible. Cahill, Keane and Stones will be the first three, that fourth spot up for grabs though. Although at present you'd expect it to go to Phil Jones.

He has been a key player, a top professional, consistently a top performer and his fitness levels are on another level. He would be an asset to any team, including England. I have my fingers crossed for him, he deserves his chance.

Plus a player can become "unsettled" when they find out how much the latest Man City full back really earns... Otoh I suppose they may learn new skills...

Otoh I suppose they may learn new skills... Because I'm an England fan as well as a Leicester fan and it makes you proud of your team to see some Leicester players in there. Whereas seeing Jesse Lingard constantly being picked ahead of Albrighton has been depressing.

Same reason Antonio never gets a look in despite his useless call up last year. It's a shame he doesn't have any Scottish or Irish blood as surely he'd be a regular for their national sides.

Skin colour? If albrighton stays on form for long enough, he may get 20 minutes playing left back in a pre tournament friendly.

Sadly they don't play for a "top" team, well they do but that's Top the man not the size! Anyway if Man U or the Pool signed them they'd be in an England shirt quicker than you could say big club bias.

Gibson had a tougher afternoon at the city ground! A good game against lukaku and friends will see him called up. A repeat of last Friday night and he can forget it.
UniFox21 Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Simpson isn't attacking enough for "modern football" Albrighton is a classic winger and feel won't fit in with how Southgate plays, with all the cutting in bs Maguire frankly should get a game, but as we saw with Drinky, its more about reputation and playing for a big club than playing well. Then again, Southgate wasn't afraid to throw Livermore in so we shall see

He's a good player but he's not going to ever trouble and England squad. Maguire however, I'd be surprised if he's not in the squad in a few weeks. He's destined.

Looks so comfortable on the ball great signing.
Jimmy Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Albrighton would only be in line for an England spot if he converted himself to right back, he'd be the best going forward by a mile but would need to work on the defensive end, as a winger he just won't get a look in
