Still would like to have a genuine No.10 but Iheanacho could do a job there I suppose.

desertfox2 Posted 23 August 2017 Posted 23 August 2017 It was clear to see how short we are at the back when Maguire got nailed early on in the game. If he'd got injured we would have been really stuck. CS looked worried. Lucky Maguire was able to run it off.

ALC Fox Posted 23 August 2017 Posted 23 August 2017 Very encouraging seeing as Gray, DD and Vardy are being linked with moves away again this morning, with the possibility that someobe could still come in with the correct bid for Mahrez before the transfer window shuts. I was quite nervous until I read that quote. I still am a bit, but slightly less so now. It would be amazing if we kept all 4 and added 2 more to strengthen the squad. After last night I think we have a stronger squad than I previously thought so another couple of additions would go down well.
Foxhateram Posted 23 August 2017 Posted 23 August 2017 We don't need much. Last night highlighted that our squad players are fit and able to play the same style of play as the A team. We look in good nick. I feel we need a rb to keep Danny on his toes (One that can get forward and has a good cross) and possibly another winger to keep competition for Mahrez (also a contingency if he goes), Albrighton and Gray. That's all I would bring in. With no Europe this year, I think we can really push on and challenge for that 6th place.

The only ones leaving now are the ones the club want to move on.

Ric Flair Posted 23 August 2017 Posted 23 August 2017 Still don't think we'll get anyone which hopefully means Mahrez, Drinkwater and Vardy stay. Yes we need defensive reinforcements but it's not the end of the world if we don't get any in, we just need to re-adjust the way we play.

I was adamant pre season that we didn't need another CB, I was wrong. Just two games against BMG and Arsenal were enough to show me Wes is declining. Benny is well out of the picture as well, so I'd say it's essential to get another CB. A ball playing CB like Maguire and we'll be quality!

A ball playing CB like Maguire and we'll be quality! I agree mate but I'm not sure Shakespeare is as far down the line on Morgan as the fans are. With Amartey and Fuchs potential centre half options and Josh Knight maybe giving him something to think about it's not conceivable that we don't bring anyone else in.

They've been declining over the seasons, the stats back that up. You can see the drop down in things like Aerial challenges won each season as they got older and less mobile. They still have a huge part to play, but I would feel far more comfortable with another quality CB who can step in that isn't Benny. Maguire on the ball has also shown up the right hand side of our defence in how they deal with the ball. He's added another dimension to the team, but it still falls down when it gets shifted to the right.
