brucey Posted 3 September 2017 Share Posted 3 September 2017 Not sure if this tells us anything new. Basically it hinges on the documents uploaded from our side, which the Merc have said they think are in order. http://www.abola.pt/Nacional/Noticias/Ver/690423 CASE OF ADRIEN AT THE FIFA TABLE THIS MONDAY As time passes without being taken and known FIFA's decision on the validation or rejection of Adrien's registration by the English Federation, anxiety grows between the parties involved: club of origin, Sporting, player and club of destination, the Leicester. BOLA spoke with Bernardo Palmeiro, a lawyer who served in the legal department of FIFA from 2013 to the beginning of 2017, and who gave us some explanations about how the body proceeds in these cases. Taking into account that all the contours of this dossier are not known, the reasons that lead to the transfer to stand by, Bernardo Palmeiro tells us in abstract about the way of proceeding of Players' Status Department of the legal department of FIFA. We started with the deadlines. "As they are urgent situations, FIFA tends to analyze them as soon as possible", he told us. "This Monday will look into the matter," he continued, although he could not reveal the right date for the opinion to be taken and released. Then, given previous cases, it revealed FIFA's tendency in these situations, noting that in this case the reasons for postponing the validation of the entry are not known. 'In general, the purchasing club, in this case Leicester, is obliged to apply for the international certificate within the period prescribed by the English Federation. That being the rule, if this does not happen FIFA tends to reject it and for it a delay of two minutes or two hours is equal, "he said. The application for an international certificate, along with termination with the home club, the agreement between clubs and the signature with the new employer are the documents required to enter into the international TMS system. Now the problem may have to do with an ancillary document: "If, in the first case, FIFA tends to reject it, the second will analyze." The reasons for requesting the extension should be "force majeure" the simple 'delay in negotiations'.

Babylon Posted 3 September 2017 Share Posted 3 September 2017 2 hours ago, brucey said: The Sporting fans seem convinced that if this falls through, he will just end up training with us without playing until January when he can be properly registered. So probably not a disaster and not a catalyst for major change as we should be able to hold down the fort till then. They think that due to a failed transfer with a player to nice previously for late paperwork. He had trained at nice, played in a friendly, so they took that as activation of contract. Where are if we don't do that or we have conditions in the paperwork stating it's only valid with international clearance, he'll be back with them. The long delay in us saying anything, the short nature of the press release and the carefully chosen words stating that we'd agreed terms and not that he'd signed, makes me think we'd been pouring over it with the legals to make sure we cover ourselves in the event of it now going through.
