If Fifa do or have rejected it and we appeal. Anyone know how long that process takes or has taken under similar circumstances?

If this doesn't get resolved. It messes up us, the player and the Portuguese national side. Nobody wins. Well apart from Chelsea who were able to sign DD on the back of Silva being his replacement.

OK so we were a few minutes late after our 2 hour extension and have no decent midfield till Jan. On the plus side we have a nice meltdown to read and get to enjoy the great escape part three.

So we're in a situation where we've effectively lost a key player and can't replace him until January.

Superb work.

Our recruitment team's obviously up there with the WORST

Hope you're right. What's you're feeling about things from you're end?

Look, if it was from any other source than a portuguese sports newspaper with a clear agenda against Sporting Clube de Portugal and president Bruno de Carvalho, I'd probably give it more credit.

But considering where it comes from, with their own source being "someone close to the player", I have serious concerns. I would expect that, when someone close to the player knew something definitive, Leicester or Sporting would have already said something. therefore, the reports saying that things are still being discussed, debated, sorted, etc. is far more reliable than a claim from people with other agendas and motivations.

So that you can put things into context, there was a debacle with West Ham regarding William Carvalho. Sullivan claimed that, among other things, the deal didn't happen because we accepted it too close to the deadline. Pretty much every WH fan thinks this is total BS, and yet, here, it's being reported that Bruno de Carvalho and Sporting are the bad guys, and poor Sullivan is the victim.

Could we not loan him until January and then sign him then, because if the deal is done on a buying thing then its just the registration thats the issue so register him on loan?

It's easy to judge from the outside without knowing the full circumstances like anything in life. For whatever reason for all we know,  Leicester may have been told that he wasn't for sale until the last minute. We may even have been looking to sign somebody completely different that we don't even know about. Some of these things are complex issues made to look easy by armchair supporters who just think they know what they're talking about.

He reports to the Chairman, obviously. The owners are ultimately responsible for our internal management. Rudkin's not a law unto himself.

Yes, but the implication was who is ultimately to blame, and it's not going to be the owners is it. They're not going to sack themselves are they

The language used doesn't seem terminal, it might be the club trying to save face but there's some hope it seems.

Why don't we release him then sign him on a free. That seems legit
