Could we not loan him until January and then sign him then, because if the deal is done on a buying thing then its just the registration thats the issue so register him on loan?

In that case, I think he can only be loaned to a club where the transfer market is still open.

I do not know if he can play for us until January, since he he was registered for the league, and has already played (and scored) for us this season.

and there was me thinking this was the least leicester-esque transfer window we've had in recent history, and then this happens...

Percy has clearly asked what's going on and the club could have said 'all is in hand' . But they didn't . They told him there were some issues they were working to 'overcome'. Does this mean an appeal which will take a few days ? It obviously means things have not gone to plan.

I am astonished that an organisation which turned over £200m last year is unable to complete a transfer in time. If it wasn't felt there was sufficient time to complete a deal then we should have told Chelsea they would have to wait until January. We were told that SCP put the price up late on. At that point we should have pulled the plug on DD's deal. taking a risk like this is incredible. My confidence that this would go through was based on not being able to believe the club wouldn't have handled this competently. I'm left hoping that this will get sorted but unless FIFA are bound to reject the initial request followed by acceptance on appeal I am now struggling with this.

Re stringers tweet - Working with SCP and the player is odd. Unless FIFA have said they are unhappy with paperwork from SCP and need some clarification I'm even more concerned with this news. either FIFA approve the paper trail and timing or they don't.

Why don't we release him then sign him on a free. That seems legit

We can't, player needs to be out of contract prior to the window closing.

I blame some incompetent admin bint called Susan. She claims to be IT literate on her CV, but she doesn't know had to add an attachment to an email and she has to ask for her colleagues' help when she's typing in italics and doesn't know how to change it back. Always eating ****ing biscuits is Carol. Or Susan, or whatever.

Well, she's ****ed it now. Shouldn't have exaggerated your IT competency on your CV, should you, Janet?

We told you these documents were important, didn't we? We gave you instruction, didn't we?

How funny are you?

I have no idea if that could be done but I'd guess that we can't

Heads must roll (metaphorically speaking)

Utterly embarrassing

I made this point before. They won't. No-one seems to be held accountable for anything at the football club. If this doesn't end up in our favour, it's a monumental fook up.

If we start on Saturday with a CM of James and Ndidi versus Kante and Drinkwater, we'd have gone backwards about 5 years and we'll lose.

Why is the whole of Leicester calling Ruskin a tosser, when there's not a single person on here who actually knows a thing about the internal workings of the club?

All Anderson Perry's fault tbh.

If he's our player, technically we can loan him to a conference club lol

Don't think we could loan him to anyone but sporting as that would break the 3 clubs in a year rule...  What a mess this could become...

We were trying to change our formation by getting this guy in, now we've got to go back to balls over the top

We should be changing our formation against certain opposition with or without Silva, last season should have taught us that, as should have Arsenal and Man United at the start of this seadon. You should play to the strengths of the players you've got with due regard to the opposition put in front of you, not just slavishly follow the same old tactics because they've been successful in our past.  We've still got some excellent players compared with other teams.

Oh Christ almighty. Please don't tell me we've sold Drinkwater and the Silva signing is now off!?

A central midfield choice of James, King, Amartey, Ndidi and Iborra. That's not good enough.

Your mate Amartey showed last season, that he can run the show against the likes of Swansea and Burnley.

5 years ago we were in the Championship. Whatever team we put out on Saturday, it'll be 11 out of the best squad we've arguably ever had.

Look, if it was from any other source than a portuguese sports newspaper with a clear agenda against Sporting Clube de Portugal and president Bruno de Carvalho, I'd probably give it more credit.

But considering where it comes from, with their own source being "someone close to the player", I have serious concerns. I would expect that, when someone close to the player knew something definitive, Leicester or Sporting would have already said something. therefore, the reports saying that things are still being discussed, debated, sorted, etc. is far more reliable than a claim from people with other agendas and motivations.

So that you can put things into context, there was a debacle with West Ham regarding William Carvalho. Sullivan claimed that, among other things, the deal didn't happen because we accepted it too close to the deadline. Pretty much every WH fan thinks this is total BS, and yet, here, it's being reported that Bruno de Carvalho and Sporting are the bad guys, and poor Sullivan is the victim.

So there's still hope then that he can play for us before January? I read in 2 English newspapers that West ham's supposed bid for Carvalho was BS so not only reported in Portugal

Yes, but the implication was who is ultimately to blame, and it's not going to be the owners is it. They're not going to sack themselves are they

No, I accept that. What I was getting at was that - if this goes badly wrong, which might not be the case - then it tells us something about the running of the club as a whole.

I expect Rudkin will be the guy held responsible if the deal is delayed and the problem was in his department. But he might be a victim of a club-wide policy of wishing to see the pound notes before making a key transaction. If we've prioritised an outgoing deal over an incoming deal - which may or may not be the case - then that's unlikely to be Rudkin's personal preference. It's likely to have come from above.

We have to change our system against certain teams because we no longer have the players to play the same way every match.

We are regressing because we are failing to replace key players.
