Curious if he looks back on not staying as a mistake. I was gutted when he decided to leave us after 1 season, but guess there was a silver lining..

did we sign Kante before or after Cambiasso decided to leave? Just wondering what impact cambiasso deciding to leave and Kante joining had on eachother

Reading between the lines, Cambiasso went after Ranieri was announced. It's well documented that the two didn't get on from Ranieri's stint at Inter.

Cambiasso left because his contract was up, we were still trying to re-sign him when we signed Kante and later on he turned down our contract offer the final time was close to deadline day.

I think it is fair to say we have been spoiled as fans over the last few years.

Esteban Cambiasso has called an end to his professional playing career after a remarkable 21 years.

Cambiasso won over the hearts of Leicester City fans after spending the Great Escape season at the King Power Stadium and was pivotal in the side’s incredible survival.

According to reports in his native Argentina, Cambiasso has now called time on his playing career to focus on starting life as a coach.

The Argentine midfielder, now 37, joined City on a free transfer in 2014 after spending 10 years at Italian heavyweights Inter Milan, scoring five goals in his 31 appearances including in the famous 5-3 win over Manchester United.

Cambiasso left the King Power Stadium the following summer, bowing out in style with a goal in the 5-1 dismantling of Queens Park Rangers in his final game, before joining Greek side Olympiacos for two seasons.

After graduating from the Real Madrid youth set up, he returned to his native Argentina in 1998 to play for Independiente and then River Plate before returning to the Bernabeu in 2002.

Despite winning a host of trophies at club level, Cambiasso was unable to add a major international trophy to his cabinet, but did score THAT goal in the 2006 World Cup against Serbia and Montenegro.

‘Cuchu’ demonstrated his leadership qualities during his time on Filbert Way so it will come as no surprise that he has already completed his coaching badges with a view to move into the management side of football.

He’s magic, you know.

This brings back some memories! Scored on both his debut and his last game for us. Loved that celebration when he scored too.

According to Vardy's book he wasn't the most popular in the dressing room but he was a Bosman signing done right. Didn't just come here for a paycheck but for one last challenge, which he completed! Great player and awesome to see him in our side.

Maybe with Silva on the bench till January we can sign him on a free again?

Such a classy player, showed awareness and intelligence on the pitch that I've never seen from another Leicester player. You could tell that when he was more mobile he was absolutely world class.

I was so excited when he signed as well, I doubt we'll ever get such a buzz signing a player again either.

Our future gaffer.

Past gaffer.

Is fact that Pearson pulled him aside regularly for opinion and advise, be pretty stupid not too.

Very privileged to watch achievement wise the best player Leicester have had or likely to have+ up there with top achievers in this country.

Pearson did that with many players, he valued experience off the field and rightly so. Hence the signings of Phillips, Taylor-Fletcher and Wasil during the season we got promoted.

He left because he knew he couldn't hack another season, quality player but he was hanging from about 65/70 minutes most games.

Always one innit.

Only a fool refuses to take advantage of someone who can offer a wealth of experience and Pearson was no fool. It's a credit to his wisdom. That he did utilize that experience, Otherwise we may never have gone on to win the League.

Cambiaso was a special talent and possibly our greatest ever signing in my 60 Years watching Leicester. It's just a pity that he wasn't part of out league winning season. Good luck to him in his retirement

Still think that the "magic" song thag accompanied his goal at home to QPR is one of the most spine-tingling moments in my years of supporting the club. It felt like every single person in the ground joined in. A marvellous moment. It makes me smile to think that maybe he possibly reflects on that, too.

Goodness me! How's that for honesty!

He was one of the best CM's of the modern era. A truly world class player.

And he was ok for us too, I guess
