Unpopular Opinions You Hold

Some of this going on in the supermarkets too, the staff never keep their distance like for some reason they think they are immune.

Been wanting to mention this all week, but went Morrisons last week, I stayed in the car while my wife went in (the illness I have makes me more vulnerable so I avoid large places with people in). After half an hour she came out sobbing, there had been a queue to get in, but when she got in it was quite clearly extremely over crowded, 50 people per isle, no one way system, no staff keeping order, she said it was like a normal shop, people leaning over her, bumping into her, people sputtering everywhere. She said the music was blaring out which didn't help as you cant concentrate in a shop under current circumstances at the best of times. To top it off, she went to the till (again no real system) and after being served, the checkout girl spat her chewy out into her bare hand, threw it in the bin and then proceeded to serve the next customer (no hand cleansing involved). She practically ran out. I checked Morrisons out on twitter after and their tweets and replies section, every other tweet was someone going nuts about how overcrowded and how grim their stores were, all over the Country. There is no excuse for it, a shit supermarket clearly trying to cash in while the better ones do things properly.

Have to say, we regularly use Oadby sainsbos which had been superb, and occasionally South Wigston Tesco which has been pretty decent to be fair (and I expected it to be one of the worse ones).

Really grated on me actually. Morrisons just facilitating a deadly illness for all intents and purposes.

Surprised to read that as my local Mozzas has been pretty good with its practices all told. Some nobhead in a mask (who, surprise surprise, wasn't arsed about distancing himself while going round the aisles) kicked off at the tills after being told to stand back and was escorted out the other day.

Was chatting to the girl at the checkout the other week and she had a couple of horror stories about how some customers had just lost it and booted off at her colleagues on the turn of a sixpence. I've definitely found other shoppers, rather than staff, to be the ones acting brainlessly at times.

Agree, supermarket staff have been quite chilled and accepting of the current reality, some of the customers totally seem to be on a hair trigger though

Pretty sure this is not limited to shoppers behaviour during the coronavirus, to be fair.

Well shoppers are just representative of society aren't they. Most are sound and sane, and a few are bellends who couldn't give a flying fvck about anyone else's health - see my post on here the other day about the cyclists while I was out walking.

@Pliskin The world has its fair share of attention seeking disingenuous people, and this crisis makes them more evident unfortunately.

Just look at Piers Morgan.

Some people have been waiting their entire life for the all clear to shout at fellow humans.

I’m still not in the good books with them after I trampled all over their gardens pissed out of my face after we won the league.

I assume you apologised and if so, they should accept it, especially given the circumstances.

You can trample over my garden when we win the league again and no apology will be required lol

I thought about apologising... but they’re all either rugby fans or anti football and all moaning gits, so I just thought bollocks to them. Just to update, for some bizarre reason they’ve taken it upon themselves to let fireworks off for the NHS staff tonight (I had another note dropped through the letter box). The street looks like a The aftermath of a South American derby game..... If I do that when England win the euros they will have the council round quicker than you can say “and Maddison curls in the winner, England are European champions”.

Time for a beer.

There's a sizeable amount of the clappers who think they're performing some sort of duty now. The NHS isn't powered by claps and it's become a game of one upmanship, ironically, to show who is the most respectful.

I just said this.

Today I was in Tesco and staff walking up the wrong way straight towards me. Also noticed two of them stood talking in the middle of an aisle.

Really confusing.

If an answer to a question is "almost never" and the next possible answer is "once or twice a week", your entire questionnaire is a useless waste of time.

Looking at you brainiacs that set up the great british intelligence test. Useless muppets.

Can someone explain the humour behind "cringe comedy" (Peep Show/The Office/The Inbetweeners) to me?

I just don't see how second-hand embarrassment is in any way funny.

Not so much funny as very entertaining

Still not quite sure on the reason for entertainment value tbh. Is it schadenfreude? I could understand that if everyone involved was dislikable, but I'm not sure they are.

They aren't real people though. I don't get cringe comedy when real people are involved, but in a sitcom setting its relatable. We've all been in embarrassing situations.

I guess I really just don't get it at all. I just feel embarrassment on their behalf even if they're fictional, rather than finding it funny or entertaining. The why I asked the question, really - I'm genuinely interested.

You're asking for an objective explanation of the subjective though really. What are you looking for in an answer? Equations and diagrams?

Tbf if someone out there could do a dissertation explaining Mrs. Brown's Boys using equations and diagrams I'd read it.

Mrs Brown's Boys + TV airtime = waste of time.

@leicsmac is genuinely a rocket scientist so yeah, I reckon equations and diagrams are exactly what he’s looking for :D
