Its on it's way at last via John Rudkin's carrier pigeon.

The pigeon was de-capitated by the rotor blades on Vichai's chopper.

A positive way to think of the reason for the delay...they wanted to make sure they had the best case they could to get this over the line!

Here's hoping there's a quick decision, and a positive one!

Have you seen him photographed at any SCP games?  He is training with our sports science team. If we had any ideas about arguing he wasn't necessarily our responsibility then he wouldn't be seen within half a mile of the KP directors box, belvoir drive or the tunnel area.

I'm not arguing about it mate (like so many people do on here), i just don't think its as clear cut as he is or is not our player. We will sign him when allowed so it makes no sense for him to be lingering around his old club. I would be very interested to see id, and who is paying any wages in this scenario.

Well he could say that then as he's not legally our player he shouldn't be leaving it to Shakey to comment on.

The man is beyond reproach in the eyes of the board and many of our fans.

He will be voted our Player of the Season without doubt

Different class

I would love to know why you are so confident but I am sure you will need to stay quiet.

In the first week or so, there were murmurings that we were prepared to argue that the deal hadn't gone through if we couldn't have his registration confirmed. The player remained in Lisbon. Pretty sure that the legal bods will have told the club  that a possible argument that the player is being unfairly denied his right to play is not helped if the club followed that particular route. Once the news came out that his registration was denied by FIFA, he subsequently appeared here, at games and at belvoir drive (though not training with the first team).

First para says LCFC 'have', whereas the second para says it is 'understood' we have???   WT* is that all about?

Question for anyone with connections at the Club   -  Do we have a PR/Communications team?   If yes, what do they actually do?  Thanks.

Please God I pray the other thread is locked now.

My guy in Lisbon who was spot on concerning the rest of this transfer tells me that sporting believe they will be able to resign silva as a free agent !

I find the suggestion that we have been 'consulting lawyers' for over 3 weeks difficult to understand.  Legal firms are used to dealing with tight deadlines - it's evident whoever has been consulted cannot have been instructed to treat as urgent. The only explanation I can think of is that advice is there no chance of winning an appeal, but that would not make sense from messages coming from City. I wish Rudkin et al would be prepared to provide answers...before 1 January

I have never come across a fast legal firm they are all thieving con artists . IMHO

Not really

He has been our no1 target for nearly 2 years and when we finally see him play you will see why

On the other hand he wouldn't exactly have to be great to be Player of the Season on how things have gone so far would he ?

There needs to be a punishment of some sorts as people need to save face and was Silva injured when he joined so it looks like he has missed a month which might be conveniently seen as punishment enough and for those all so keen to point the finger solely at us if the FA can appoint a National coach unaware that they had already removed him from a position due to his unacceptable conduct and FIFA has a crime rap longer than your arm for wrong doing it is a chance one could be at fault, lets hope common sense prevails.

I'm aware of the rumours but don't really see that your post gives any evidence as to who would be paying his wages. Its probable he's being paid by us but not certain.

Given his registration has been accepted by the FA, how is he a free Agent? Mind you, if the transfer contract was drawn up by LCFC, then anything is possible.....

Don't the FA have delegated authority by FIFA which would mean FIFA are the last word on the matter? So FA working on behalf of fifa who ratify world football?

Not sure of the business model but it would make sense.

Sounds like bollocks

I love this comment.  It fits so well on FT and can be readily used for almost everything that one reads.

He'll get my vote if he comes in and gets higher than a 60% pass completion rate.

Hopefully we are not dead and buried by Jan.

Probably 14 seconds late to submit an appeal.

But seriously why has it taken nearly 4 weeks to appeal... bet we won't get an answer until December.

Obviously seeing if the grounds of the appeal would be sufficient. They'd not go with the appeal if they didn't think it had legs. Shit hot lawyers on the case.

Rudders has applied for legal aid so we can get someone to act for us on the cheap!

The club haven't been sat on their arses like some of the know-it-all pessimists that flood these threads.

They've taken 'ages' because they want to make sure their appeal is properly done and has the best chance of approval. The club know they only have one chance at an appeal and are doing everything in their power to ensure it goes through ASAP.

If he has been our top target for two years why the hell mess about in the transfer window and leave it so late? We knew Drinky wanted out. Why the hell wait so long? Such poor business practice.
