Don't think he ever truly wanted the job

He could have turned it down, but then would have been left wondering what might have been. I don't blame him for taking it but I would rather the board realise now rather than 3-4 months down the line before it's too late.

If it's Coleman, I quit football.

We can't look past international managers, it's the Rudkin way.

I did a lol last night down at the ground because I remembered the TIFO with 'let slip the dogs of war' on it and then thought we needed a new one which was more like 'let slip the puppies of minor annoyance'.

No matter who comes in, the problem remains. We do not have a midfield. Wendy is out on loan, James is having issues keeping fit, Silva is uneligable, Iborra is unproven and King, although loyal, is pish.

So we apparently need a manager who knows how to play without a centre of midfield....

My money's on Allardyce. I think there's that much potential for us to cock this up that Allardyce is relatively safe.

Our flimsy foundations have been exposed enormously now. What an absolute joke we are.

Scenes when Rudkin is announced as caretaker manager

Shame things leak out before the players could be told by the club

guess we won’t know where the leak has come from

Hate to say i was right, said i would support him but last night just proved what most thought when he got the job it wasn't going to end well. Where do we go from here? - **** knows i mean who is available?, we need to start fresh and pray we get a result at the weekend i pray they already have someone in mind.

Really wanted Shakey to succeed with us. Definitely earned his chance – just a shame he didn't, ultimately, do enough.

Will always be grateful to him for saving us last season. He also played a massive role in everything we've achieved over the past five years, so a genuine hats off to the bloke.

Upwards and onwards, lets hope we do our homework on the next chap.

There's many people calling him 'Fatboy' and various other names. He doesn't deserve that, he tried and sadly failed. That's all I am saying.

There's plenty of things to criticise Shakespeare on and his weight doesn't really need to be one of them.

People resulting to calling him fat just can't come up with anything more imaginative.

I wanted him to have a chance - I think he's had it tbh and shown no signs of improving, so I wanted him gone. But like you said, he did nothing other than try his best as always - it just wasn't enough in this scenario.

Making it personal and calling him names is a bit pathetic tbh.

Wow I didn't see that coming yet. Pretty gutted as I really wanted him to succeed.

Is it now a harder job than we've had in a long time because we're not going to have shakey there as our excellent and much loved number two to hold everyone together through the turmoil.

We had better have an excellent replacement lined up otherwise this is a ridiculous decision.

No it is not ridiculous.

He proven not to up to the task.

I take it you don’t watch the football given your post.

That said **** knows what’s going to happen now.

It's not just the manager - the rot goes deeper than that. Ive always said that he wasn’t the first choice, but that other managers looked at the set up and decided to stay clear. (No evidence for that assertion of course)

Kept the club up last season just with the caretaker manager effect and was a great coach in the title wins.

Not a manager though and the writing should have been on the wall with the end of season results like the Spurs thrashing. He wasn't the man to take the club forward beyond last season.

Deserves credit for keeping the club in the Premier League because we were going down the way things were.

I'd have been dead against Allardyce at the start of the season and tbh I still don't like the man - he is a crook BUT...

He has the ****ing minerals to sort this side out and might be just the sort of finger we need to plug the hole until a proper plumber shows up.

LCFC is rotten from the top to the bottom at the moment and someone with a set of big hairy testicles needs to come in and say 'enough is enough'.
