He has the ****ing minerals to sort this side out and might be just the sort of finger we need to plug the hole until a proper plumber shows up. LCFC is rotten from the top to the bottom at the moment and someone with a set of big hairy testicles needs to come in and say 'enough is enough'. Only thing with him is he's got no tolerance for bullshit. In a way we need that but he'll walk away if he's not happy.

David Lowe Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 It's a case of 'I told you so!' from me. I told people on here that you should never appoint the caretaker based on a few good results but the majority wanted him. I wanted Hodgson at the time but it's obviously too late to get him now.

Definitely earned his chance – just a shame he didn't, ultimately, do enough. Will always be grateful to him for saving us last season. He also played a massive role in everything we've achieved over the past five years, so a genuine hats off to the bloke. Upwards and onwards, lets hope we do our homework on the next chap. Good comments + wouldn't have won the league without him. Managed to get the absolute best out of a pretty average if we are honest side. .........But unable to squeeze anymore or anything like the same out of the same players. Only two out of £100- 150M = players look decent
king_power123 Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 This is only the start of a massive clearout that is needed. CS tried his best but wasn't getting the results.

I think he'd have everything he wants here - the owners are good with letting the manager get on with it + plenty of money in the windows, etc. My first choice would be Rafa to be honest, I'm not at all keen on Sam but I can see that he'd most likely be effective - not pretty, at all - but effective.
Beliall Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Had to be done, i just hope we go for a decent manager and dont put Appleton in charge

I take it you don’t watch the football given your post. That said **** knows what’s going to happen now. So you reckon Appleton is the man to lead us until we get a replacement? Nutter!
RumbleFox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 In a truly "footballing" sense this may turn out to be a good call but I feel very sorry for him and wish him the best and will always be grateful for his part in the biggest miracle in footballing history. It is a shame to lose him from the club completely, he was clearly an excellent coach and well liked. Really unpleasant for anyone to lose their job and I hope no one on here takes too much pleasure from this. He always seemed a very decent guy. It was tough for him. He saved us from almost certain relegation and then took the job which I don't think many people would have turned down. IF (and I say IF because he really hasn't been given much time) he got "found out" as a manager then it certainly wasn't his fault, nor was it through a lack of trying. As I say, I wish him the best and it is a shame we cannot retain him in some capacity as I feel sad to see him leave. I just hope the next appointment is a good one and a well thought out one. We need someone with a vision. I want us to be a team I can be proud of, regardless of where we are in the league. I would model ourselves on Atletico if I were in charge (and capable) but no idea whether their are any mini Simeones out there? X
nettle Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I think the players are going to be in for a bit of a shock if you ask me. Who ever comes in they are gonna bring there own coaching staff with them so no more jobs for the boys anymore.

Knowledgeable guy obviously. Decent director of football matters with Shakey

People resulting to calling him fat just can't come up with anything more imaginative. I wanted him to have a chance - I think he's had it tbh and shown no signs of improving, so I wanted him gone. But like you said, he did nothing other than try his best as always - it just wasn't enough in this scenario. Making it personal and calling him names is a bit pathetic tbh. Yeah more imaginative like, tubs, chunk or big boned balloon head.
Alf Bentley Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I know that we've been playing badly - and I'd question the formation that Shaky has been playing (from my position of vastly greater expertise ), but.... I find this decision very harsh. If performances and results had continued this way for another month, his position would have become untenable but let's remember our results: - 4 league defeats against the "Big 6", 2 of them very narrow defeats - 3 league draws against "Small 14" teams, 2 of them away, the other at home to a particularly awkward team we never beat at home - 1 league win against a "Small 14" team - 2 cup wins, 1 of them against Liverpool I'd have given him another 6 weeks or so, unless results and performances had deteriorated further. I just hope that the owners now have someone good lined up or we could make a tricky situation even worse and become confirmed relegation candidates.
Bayfox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Shame as him doing well means out club doing well. But like Claudio he had to go his time was up. His shear reluctance until last night to move away from 442 and change personnel showed a real lack of understanding. We had become awful to watch and if nothing else a change in either of the above may have saved him. But we have handled being champions appallingly it was always gonna be a downhill ride but this is off the scale. Let's hope the owners get the next one right.
Adster Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 We're a mess of a club at the moment. Keep this up and we'll end up like Sunderland, there's no doubt.

Wymsey Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 BBC Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer Craig Shakespeare knew the ruthless nature of Premier League management when he took the job, but eight games will have been a surprise to him, I'm sure. I chatted to him pre-season, when he said he was well aware of the difficulties of having Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the first six league games. And having Danny Drinkwater sold on deadline day only to discover the paperwork for his replacement - Adrien Silva - was 14 seconds late left meant depleted numbers. Shakespeare's association with the club goes back to Nigel Pearson's appointment in 2008, with a break when the pair managed Hull City, so it's a long-standing romance with European victories along the way. It ended against West Brom, a club he played for. Fans' reactions seem mixed. Many remember the night against Sevilla when Shakespeare took charge and secured Leicester City a Champions League quarter-final place, while some claim that achievement and resulting appointment was a step too far for an inexperienced manager. I'll miss him. Above all, he's a nice man. They're rare in football.
