Cannot say that wasn't decisive. The question is who comes in?

I don’t want the usual suspects ie Allardyce, Pardew et al.

As Kitch says someone progressive with an identity.

80% of the season left so we don’t need to panic, its not a few months  for a relegation fire fighter that we need.

I was gonna say ‘Long term’ bit that’s not how it works anymore?

He seems like a good guy, and very smart.. but he's not a premier league manager. Hope he does well in his future endeavors.

The undeniable fact is that we are no better off than when Shakey came in as caretaker manager and after last night's woeful display there was only one decision to be made.

Already talk on ssn speculating about Pearson.

Please for the sake of the club, let's not go full circle.

New man, new backroom staff, fresh new start and direction, and clear out the people above Shakespeare, as they hold a lot of responsibility for the state of things at the club.

They're delighted they got new contracts

That's whats I meant, who approved these jobs for the boys decisions should be shown the door too.

Right man to steady the ship last season, but I'm with many on here - the dip in form has been alarming. In some ways it was the same level as the start of the dip under Claudio. We've looked clueless in games we should have won.

Best for all parties.

...also a very good coach deemed good enough for our national side.

Most could see that it was an error and leave him to do what he does best apart from those/ him who gave him the job.

We wanted it to work but it didn't.

He gave us many great years of service and we have given him a platform to progress his career.

The time was right for us to move on.

Come the summer, a great number of this squad will also be gone.

You see it when a team wins a SuperBowl, you win, you refresh, you go again.

We're stale.

One down and one to go in Rudkin the wonder pony then hopefully we can get back to where we should have building to 18 months ago after winning the league.....a top 6 team.

Getting rid of Rudkin is, in my opinion, one of the most important things we can do now to push this club along.

He's been absolutely ****ing dog for several windows - proper bum-licking melt of a man who has no doubt blagged his way into the owners trusted circle yet seemingly can't manage his way out of a ****ing paper bag.

Shakey. It's got to be his idea to give his players contracts. He also bought a backup goalkeeper who can't even make the bench.

Gutted it didn’t work out for him and sad to loose someone that played a huge role in all the success we’ve achieved over the last few years, but it is the right decision.

Might sound harsh but I have no sympathy with him.

I really liked him as a coach but his management style is hateful. No excuse for playing football that negative.

I'm particularly bitter about the Atletico Madrid tie. He didn't even give us a chance in that. Even by the time we tried to score a goal at 2-0 down, he brought on 2 defenders. Unforgivable.

First off this is a guy who has been with us since the League one title win all the way through to becoming champions of England, He deserves respect.

As a manager though he's favoured the old guard far too much in a system that is becoming predictable to other teams. Millions of pounds have been spent on talent that is barely getting a look in along with a system that fit's in none of them. Tactically suspect especially since safety was guaranteed at the end of last season, it just hasn't got any better.

At least now a manager has a full transfer window and a decent chunk of the season to start freshening up our side.

I don't think Shakey (or Claudio) had much to do with buying player.

They were bought for him, bizarre I know.

Not sure if they were gift wrapped

I'm not surprised at this at all,
