Blue ROI Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Disappointed for him its ended this way given his overall contribution to the club. I hadnt too much against him being manager but in retrospect the Spurs thumping was a sign of things to come and it seemed too big for him to handle. After the nature of Ranieris departure this was on the cards and Bournemouth was the straw that broken the camels back. You could sense it had gone sour. He has been a bit unlucky against the established sides but we've been pretty dire outside of those games. Changing things around last night was good but he was far too late in doing so. Wasn't a good sign. The trouble for us though is that the club is a mess outside of the first team.We had (apart from Sousa/Sven) 8 magnificent years but it feels like our moment has passed. Rudkin needs to go. He's been disastrous for us. Get pearson back in the club. We need his influence. Director of Football would be a great appointment. Its a big appointment for the owners too. The whole snakes and Karma for shakey crowd are out in force but I think the Thai's have lost a bit of face in all of this. It's good that they've acted quick but post-title they've looked a bit uncertain.

No club or manager should be dictated too by a bunch of players. As others have alluded too we need a whole clear out at the club from boardroom level down. If any player thinks he is bigger than the club then he or they need moving on. I pray we employ a manager who is ruthless and takes no shit. This player power malarkey has got us nowhere.

Great Boos Up Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I've said before that this would only end in us losing a great coach. His job was initially to step up and keep us up which he did. Here we are back to where he started and we have missed some great opportunities along the way and now he's gone. He couldn't exactly go back to his old job as Appleton and his guns were glaring at him. I'm sad, but relieved as well, but mostly sad.

sdb Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Bit early for me. He finally seemed to see the light last night - a formation and system that suits our players. Took a month too long, but at least give him a chance to try it out for a couple of games. Dread to to think where we go from here.

Jay Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 It seems a bit early but it was all a bit stale on the pitch and we don’t seem to have a clue how to break down teams and win a game of football and nothing really seemed like changing anytime soon. however many of the issues he was not directly responsible for the shocking recruitment of the last 18months, the sale of drinkwater and loaning mendy on the same day while cocking up the silva transfer. you can probably guess where this is going BUT Rudkin is responsible for the entire football operation of the club which is in a mess from top to bottom unless we make changes at that level nothing will change going forward. However he appears to be untouchable yet should be taking full responsibility for the past 18 months Shaky has been a massive part of this club for a long time and his contribution should never be forgotten.

SpacedX Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 No need to panic...the club are on the phone to Bob Bradley as we speak.
Foxhateram Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Ironically though Appleton may be more qualified for the job...... maybe he went to the board and pushed Shakey out! Like shakey 'did to Claudio!?' Boom plot twist!!!????
Sindidragon Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Anyone noticed that the rot set in since Appleton arrived, plus Rudkin hasn't been sacked for messi g up Silva deal, owners need to wake up
PhillippaT Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Not sure what to make of this - one the one hand it's a results driven business and that speaks for itself, on the other, are we merely treating symptoms rather than the cause...
NewEnglandFox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 His tactics were bad and his post-match press conferences were infuriating but by no means is his sacking going to be what turns us around.

Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I'm glad the press are starting to question the likes of Rudkin, this will make for an uneasy press conference at the unveiling of a new manager. Wouldn't surprise me if we try and get out of having one which would happen if Appleton was asked to take over for the foreseeable future. There's been a silence from this club for a long while now and th press reports that Shakespeare and Rudkin didn't get on just shows how nicely tucked his feet are under the table here. I really wish us fans could use our power collectively to force our owners in to removing Rudkin, he will ruin this club at this rate.
